🐞 Introducing our Market Membership Program 🐞

Market Memberships are the best way to support Lucky Bug Farm and get exclusive perks and early access in return. Market Memberships allow you to take home as much or as little veggies, herbs, preserves and seedlings as you'd like 🌿πŸ₯¬πŸ…

If you're interested in signing up and/or want to learn more you can do so through our online store using the link in our bio or by e-transferring any amount to [email protected] to get you started for the season. Your support now, when costs are highest, helps me bring you amazing produce all season long.

Market memberships also give me more flexibility to enjoy the summer months outside of farming and to focus more on making value added products, which I really enjoyed doing at the end of last season. I'm excited for you all to taste what I cooked up + what I'm planning for this season.

If you're not interested in signing up, sharing this post is appreciated!
Thank you + have a great long weekend,
Aliyah

I hope everyone is as excited as I am to have more visitors up to the farm this season 🌻

Lucky Bug is looking for part-time help this summer πŸžπŸ¦‹

I'm looking for a part-time market gardener to help me two to four days per week this summer. No experience is required but applicants should understand that farming is physically demanding, repetitive, dirty work and should be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Black, Indigenous and racialized women are encouraged to apply.

More information including a job description can be found on the home page of the farm's website or at the link in our bio. Resumes and a brief note about why you'd like to work with Lucky Bug Farm can be sent to [email protected]. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis starting next week.

If you're local to the KW, Cambridge and Guelph I'd appreciate it if you could share this post! Thanks 🌿

2023 CSAs are available now πŸŒΏπŸ…πŸ₯¬

The store is open at the link in my bio for you to check out this year's CSA offerings, pick up options and to read through the FAQ. I'll be posting more information here over the next few weeks but here's a quick summary of the plan for this season:

This year's CSA will be 18 weeks long from June to October and I'll be offering Small (4 items), Medium (6-8 items) and Large (9-11 items) Shares. Like always, you can choose to pay upfront all at once or as-you-go throughout the season.

Expect a variety of all of your faves: leafy greens, root veggies, herbs, salad, lettuce, tomatoes, zukes, cukes and peppers, along with some things that may be unfamiliar but will certainly be delicious! Purchasing a CSA share is the best way to support Lucky Bug Farm and make sure you get a consistent supply of our produce all summer long.

If you have a CSA-related question and can't find the answer on the website you can always leave a comment here or send me a DM 🐞

hi, how's it going?

I honestly really burnt out at the end of last season and needed this break from social media to get some good mental rest.

In the meantime I've been to two new provinces thanks to the National Farmers Union, met a bunch of amazing farmers and made really exciting plans to expand the farm like working at the Wooden Boat Food Company's kitchen to start producing value added products later this year! But it's finally spring and I've been spending more and more time working on plans for when I'll be back on the farm, growing veggies and herbs again.

So what am I doing this season? A CSA program, value added products and (for now) no "big" farmer's markets. At this point the best way to make sure that you get our produce is to join our CSA program. If you subscribe to our mailing list you should have received a password for early access to our website yesterday evening (if not DM me for it!). And the website will open back up to everyone from next Tuesday onwards.

Thanks for reading and following along even when I don't post much πŸ’•πŸž
