It's our 20th anniversary! What started as a small fundraiser has become the must-attend community happening of the summer. With the retirement of our kitchen manager after 19 years of dedicated support, the NHCFH is actively looking to secure a new kitchen manager for this year's Summer Fish Fry & Pig Roast Dinner being held at the Bancroft Curling Club on July 11, 2026. Key qualifications and duties include:
Experience in a kitchen manager role, sous chef, or similar role, ideally managing staff for larger events.
Holding a valid Food Handler Certificate, issued by the Ontario Ministry of Health within the last 5 years and to have this certificate available for inspection on site during the 3 days leading up to and including the day of the event.
Available to oversee the kitchen operations for a charity event with 300+ attendees on July 11, 2026.
Managing the receipt and proper storage of food inventory arriving on the Thursday prior to the event.
Assisting with staff schedules for kitchen operations from July 10-11, training volunteer staff as required and overseeing the preparation and serving of food at the event, ensuring both quality and consistency while enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards of the local Health Department.
Coordinating the bussing of tables and cleaning of dishes and kitchen equipment to bring them back to their original state.
Available to participate in planning meetings leading up to the event.
Dedicated on site availability for Thursday July 9 (approx. 1 hour), Friday July 10 (approx. 6 hours) and Saturday July 11(approx. 9 hours).
If you believe you have both the qualifications and availability to help with this great event, please forward your resume along with an introductory cover letter to Kevin Vance at [email protected].
