Slomp Dairies

Slomp Dairies Slomp Dairy Ltd. is a family farm located near Barrhead, Alberta. We milk 200 cows in 4 lely robots, and grow the majority of their feed. and Aljans Farms Ltd.

We also grow wheat and canola. We have 175 milking cows and together with WS Farms Ltd. we harvest corn, barley, canola, hay and wheat.

With all the trade talks come opinions against and for dairy supply management. One of which is the thought that dairy product prices are lower in the US.

Check out the dairy farmers of Canada website for the answers to many questions.

The average Canadian prices for dairy products such as yogurt, butter, and cheese were lower than in the U.S. in 2024. This trend continued in 2025 according to the most recent data available from Statistics Canada and its U.S. counterpart the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
