These are heartnuts, a Japanese walnut. Last year was the first year I was able to harvest enough to use in my homemade granola. If you look closely, you can see the shelled nuts resemble hearts, well at least the ones that didn't crack in half. I thought today would be a good day to post these. Happy Valentine's Day!
