Have you ever tried Zurek - fermented rye soup, also known as polish hangover soup!?
ลปurek is a traditional fermented rye soup, deeply rooted in Central and Eastern European cooking. Itโs hearty, tangy, comforting, and built on patience. Making it with our own pasture-raised pork and our free range eggs brings the dish full circle, from field to table.
We have been wanting to share this post with you since the Christmas holidays, but time has a funny way of getting away from us!
The dish was introduced to me when I was much younger with less obligations and much less to do but get out and make the best of a young life and good friends. Polish hangover soup - as we called it - was the remedy to a late night out. Often accompanying some of the funnest memories of university life, long before settling down on our small farm. While those days are long gone - probably for the best, I don't think I could keep up with a 22 year old version of myself anymore! The memories and the friendships live on and besides the truly unique absolutely delicious flavour, I wouldn't trade the time in my life where I learned about ลปurek for the world.
We wanted to share some of the food that helps make our farm and what we do feel a little more special! Our goal is to produce the best quality food that we can and we want to share even more of that.
We've added a new recipe page to our website where we are going to share some of our favourite recipes bringing our farm to table.
This is new, so right now we have our first one recipe up, an all time favourite soup - delicious, hardy and brings back all the best memories of being a young adult starting out in life with not much more than some good friends to share the journey with!

The post is in blog format with a deeper dive into the history of the dish, why it's special to us, and the full recipe, our version - it might not be traditional as you know it if your familiar with the dish, but we love it, and we want to share it with our friends and family that follow along with our small farm.
