Sweet Chamomile!

These beautiful blooms are self-seeded volunteers- an early bonus crop and cheery presence in a fairly weedy garden I’m still tucking seedlings into.

Pondering if the month of May’s name is short for “Maybe”… maybe it’ll be 20, maybe it’ll snow, maybe you’ll wear long john’s and other wollens to a May market end the day with windburn… ahhh, May in Manitoba!

What’s not a maybe is the beauty of local markets… the energy, the shared values of being there together to both provide local goods and support local makers & producers. To vote with our dollars, and our presence.

Chatting about gardens and plants,the doting over favourite herbs, and the excitement around meeting new herbs is so lovely.

Thanks to everyone who came to the market today and brought home some new herb pals! The and team put on a great market.

It was a joy to team up with Karin today to send more herbs out into the world!

Looking forward to this seedling sale! May 23rd at Ferme Fiola Farm. Hosted by Swallowtail Farmstead & Ferme Fiola Farm.

Save the date! I'll be at the Seedling Sale and Spring Fest proudly hawking a great selection of native prairie and woodland plants (as well as my book and Sap 'n' Salvy, of course). For a change of scenery, I'll be heading into the field at 1:45. Join me and I'll introduce you to some cool native plants!

I really love this event - the great vibe, amazing vendors, live music, regenerative farm tours (how cool is that?) and many free mini workshops to fill your mind with all kinds of inspiration! You don't want to miss this one!
