Fall Round up is complete, and the cows, calves and bulls are eating the cover crop. The list we have completed so far this fall:

All the cows and calves are home from their summer pastures, including the ones at the Community pasture.

All the calves have been vaccinated

Madeline got her honey supers off so she can extract the honey shortly

Next up: wean replacement heifers and bull calves, wean and sell all other calves, preg check the cows!
The heifers at the community pasture were preg checked when they left the pasture and all are in calf, so fingers crossed it is a good omen for the rest of the herd

Our eldest 2 had their final 4-H show of the year yesterday. They had a great day, Bridget placed 6th with her calf Periwinkle and Madeline managed to make all her shows and attend the fair embassador competition.
Super thankful for an amazing Aunt that made sure Madeline made it up to her interview and speech on time.
Thank you to Jeanette and Tayna for the photos :)

We have tickets for the Jackpot if needed.

Apparently I took 0 photos during the actual Victoria Beef Farmers BBQ.
Did anyone else notice the note on the side of one of the fanning mills?
It was fantastic to see everyone out. The 4H heifer show was amazing and the steers stunning. The official weight of the straw bale was 551lbs. Thank you to all the sponsors, and everyone that came out!

Life lately. Summer calvers have started, some cows to grass. Sheep and ponies on grass. All a bit of a blur at this time of year
