Fall has arrived! Bartlett Pears are being harvested and they will soon be all picked. Bartletts will be available all through September. Here owner, Don Thompson looks over the day's pick.
Many people like to set a few out of the refrigerator to ripen and when they start to turn yellow they are ready to eat. Pears will continue to soften outside of the fridge. Everyone seems to have their favourite level of ripeness to eat Bartletts. I prefer medium softness with lots of juice! How do you like your pears for fresh eating?

Try some fresh Bartlett Pears with your lunch or even at breakfast! They are a sweet treat.

The fall harvest of apples is just starting. Did you know Honey Crisp has to sit in a warm room for 5 days to develop the flavour? After that we store them at 38 F or 3.3 C. Other apples get stored at 32 -31 F (0 C to -0.5 C) Here are some of our first Honey Crisp which may be available next week.
