Do you own sheep? πŸ‘ Or visited sheep and loved on them...

Have you watched the movie Sheep Detective?

If yes, do you look at sheep differently now?

It can't only be me.

I have always loved my sheep so much. And they all have such different personalities. But now, I see them so different. ❀️ The way they forget immediately after an incident, are unable to walk over different surfaces or even the one that never forgets and remembers all the holes in the fence 🫣

Tell me if you watched it and it changed the way you see your sheep πŸ‘ ❀️

Sam, the turkey man!

Our 5 turkey ladies were seriously being a bother. Dropping everything someone or something came near them. They "assumed the postion" as they say.
So i went looking for a lovely turkey gent for our girls. Enter Sam. A simply adorable turkey man. We brought him home and began introductions... While the ladies had been asking for the services of a turkey man, they were not impressed that there actually WAS a turkey man. So they beat him up, and made him live with the chickens. He tries to come into the barnyard, but the turkey ladies are watching πŸ‘€ and Sam is quickly rebuffed to the chicken area. Once we pen them for the winter, theyll be forced to live with Sam and will learn to love him. Until then, we'll enjoy his company in the backyard as he strutta his lovely self for us!

This goat has a rough life.

I don't want to say kiwi is spoiled.... but she is sleeping on me, on the swing after chasing the hooman kids around the backyard. 🫣

Get cows they said...

They eat more than goats do.

This time, 7 years ago, we traveled to cape Breton and picked up my, new to me, 1990s 16s, a series AVL production loom.

It's paid itself off a couple times. I dont regret a single day - this loom is amazing. She has her quirks. But don't we all!!

Our bottle brigade is now quite the crew!

Vera, Pugsley and Kiwi πŸ₯ are getting along like they've been fest friends forever.

My kiddos love running with them in the backyard and watching their antics.
Currently, snuggling kiwi on the circular swing seems to be the move favorited option.... until her little poos πŸ’© send them running 😜 and we clean the swing.

I really love how the colours in this blanket came together.

Handwoven in a fern green, poppy red, black, and green/teal wool, mixed with a cream and fawn wool yarn for some great texture.

This series is named "Floating Windows" and was designed in our studio to showcase different colours of wool. I took inspiration from an old photo hanging on our wall. The photo shows 3 children, watching a house floating by, floating from one bay to another. While this photo was taken in 1961, many of my ancestors families were forced to move their homes on boats. Small fishing communities were closing and their only option was to start over, or find a way to take their homes with them. From one bay to another.

They represent resilience, hardship and new beginnings. While also finding the good in the situation and making it work for you. Because there's always another bay.

As always, our yarns come from wool, farm raised and locally milled.

Available in our shop or online.

I'm so, so, excited!
Kiwi is nursing.
Every bottle!
She woke up yesterday and chose to get with the program. Maybe hanging out with Pugsley and Vera showed her that nursing is fabulous. They make it look like the best thing ever.
Now that she's eating regularly and filling her belly, she's starting to g a little bouncy. The mischievous side eye and little head tosses, promise that she'll be as sassy as Caramel. Have I said how much I truly love goats?! ❀️
