Royal Aspen Rabbitry is located in northeastern Alberta, focusing on raising quality rabbits. Currently, our main project is Jersey Woolies, as our Harlequin program has been put on hold. I'm a youth breeder who has had rabbits since 2015, but more recently decided to get into show breeding and create my rabbitry. I'm always open to working with other breeders, and my DMs are open to anyone.

For some reason I always pick the spicy ones 😂.
This little blue buck has been the bane of my existence since he opened his eyes. If there’s a way to escape he will find it. In this case I had the cage open while I was filling up the grow out j-feeder. Unfortunately I have a soft spot for blues and this guy can run the table like a champ so he will be staying. Very excited to see how he grows out.

Avesing’s ZHU (Honey) is still available. Proven Brood Quality Gold Senior Doe, 2 years, 7 months. This girl has been shown and won BOV 3 times and BOSV 1, unfortunately as a gold she hasn't won any legs and is not a rabbit that will be winning best of breed. She is nice and wide, and has the most spots of any of my golds.
Unfortunately she is washed out, and I haven't liked the colour of the kits she's produced. Other than that she is lacking in graduation of her sweep, and has a dip in her shoulder. But she also has nice size, and extension.

Senior wise I only have an Opal Rex doe, and a gold English spot doe.

Otherwise I will only have some pet quality stock available at farm fair. Consisting of Dutch, and some harlequin English spot crosses (don’t ask 😭)

However we have Rex, and English spot kits who have recently escaped the nestbox. As well as a litter of harlequin x dutch (again don’t ask). All my youngest litters are only going to be ten weeks old by the time I move, which sucks for whatever Rex culls I end up with- but we’ll make do.

Don’t be fooled by his p*e stained appearance, this gentleman is gorgeous when he’s not sandwiched between two rowdy bucks.

Sam’s Spotted Kaboom (aka Jasper) has produced many kits and has outdone himself here. He’s not show quality, as he has a disqualifying ear spot, but he is a perfect brood Buck who’s great at his job.

He’s got good rounded eye circles and cheek spots. Overall very clean face markings, his ear base is rather dirty though. I’d like to see his herringbone wider, and more evenness in his sweeps.

He can go with my black doe who he has produced amazing kits with in the past, or a gold doe to produce torts and grays. I also have a bunch of potential juniors he could go with (most are his daughters).

Copper Ridge Anastasia. Senior Proven Opal Rex doe, 1 years 6 months. She was shown at WRC last year as a junior and won BOSV 3x, got amazing comments from the judge amazing depth, amazing width, and good fur. Her only fault is that she has weak intermediate band colour. She could also do with a touch more width in her loin (like most Rex lmao), and she’s a little on the smaller side. She absolutely makes up for it in type though. Currently on a litter but can go once they’re weaned. Carries either REW or Himi, waiting to see.

Photos are from winter so she was under conditioned. Her loin is much fuller when she’s a proper weight.

Letting go of a 10 week old from my harlequin lines. Due to outcrosses and such in my lines she won’t be leaving as purebred, and will not come with a pedigree.
This girl is absolutely beautiful, she’s wide, has a nice topline, and has been weighed in at good - excellent range during grow out. Unfortunately she’s lacking in markings. She would however be a colorful addition to a meat/pelt line. I’m also selling a proven pair she can be added on to. Photos are all of her when she was younger.

PENDING PICK UP
I’m letting go of a proven pair from my harlequin program. These guys are not fully purebred as I’ve used outcrosses in my lines, so I’m not selling them as such and they won’t come pedigreed. Both are around eight pounds, doe just got off her first litter of eight kits with a 100% survival rate. Lots of nice splits in there.

I currently have four English spots up for consideration, they can be separated or go as a group. If you follow me you know how much I love this breed, and I love my stock- but I’ve picked my best does and have 30+ showable kits to sort through, so these guys need to go.

Sam’s Spotted Kaboom (Jasper) - Proven Brood Quality Black Senior Buck, 1 year 9 months. Has been shown multiple times but disqualified for a white ear spot once. Has good face markings, and a good sweep. However he has a dirty ear base, narrow herringbone, and weak ankles. Carries Dilute.

Sam’s Spotted Piñata (Beatrix) - Proven Brood Quality Black Senior Doe, 1 year 11 months. Can’t be shown due to a missing tail. This girl perfectly compliments Jasper, wider herringbone, stronger ankles, cleaner ear base. Her sweep needs some work though. They’ve had absolutely beautiful kits. She’s currently on a litter so won’t be able to leave until they’re weaned.

Royal Aspen’s Amphitrite - Unproven Brood Quality Senior Lilac Doe, 10 months. This girl is unshowable due to having two stray head spots. She has a really good sweep, herringbone and ear base, however she’s a little congested in her hindquarters. She had one litter but lost it, I’m currently waiting for her to kindle to see if she does better this time. If she does she won’t be available until they’re weaned, and will be sold as proven.

Our last litters will be born at the end of the month, and then we will be on a breeding hiatus until we get settled in and our able to bring the rabbits down to Ontario. So I’m starting to go through which ones will be kept and which can hope along. So far I have a few that will be available that I need to photograph, or wait for litters out of:

1 senior Opal Rex doe (Proven), got 3 BOSV wins at the WRC last year (no legs), got amazing comments only fault was her weak intermediate band

1 senior Harlequin Pair (Proven) - outcross lines and very brindled, will not come with pedigree but would do amazing for a meat program. Produce very nice splits

1 senior Lilac English Spot doe (Unproven)- Had one litter at 7 months that didn’t make it, bred and hoping she does good this time. Not showable due to two stray head spots.

1 Pet quality Dutch Buck

Super excited about this harlequin litter! No showable ones, but we’ve got some pretty solid bands. This is both the doe and bucks first litter, and Eos is doing amazing. Going to let their fur grow in to asses brindling better before I do the first round of culls. Then these guys will have their grow out rates tracked to see if there’s any improvement (Dad was in the excellent range but mom was much slower).

I hope to be importing some new blood in the next year after I move, but currently I’m focusing on working within my lines and improving what I can.
