Milo looks on at all the pollinators at work!!

Did you know some varieties of hardy kiwi (Actinidia arguta) are self-fertile? This means a single plant houses both male and female flower parts!

While they can self-pollinate, our local bumblebees take the harvest to a whole new level. Kiwi flowers don’t actually produce nectar, but they are absolutely packed with rich, high-reward pollen. Bumblebees are obsessed with it!

Because of their size and fuzzy bodies, bumblebees shake loose massive amounts of pollen, ensuring maximum fruit set and much larger kiwis for us later this season.

Watch closely and you can see this busy worker, getting completely dusted in kiwi gold.

Also thankful our honeybees, who are reaping much nectar nearby in our wildflower gardens. What a beautiful spring after this fresh rain !

Rain or Shine, the Bees Are Buzzing! 🌧️🐝

A little coastal rain couldn't stop the fun at the today! We packed up the booth, bundled up, and brought a very special guest with us—a live observation frame.

This little explorer was absolutely mesmerized by the busy colony, and honestly, we can't blame him. Getting to watch the magic of the hive up close is the perfect remedy for a grey Sunday morning.

While our bees are still hard at work making this season's honey, we’ve brought plenty of handcrafted goods straight from the apiary to keep you glowing. Come say hi and check out our:

🧼 Shampoo Bars (ditch the plastic bottles!)
🪵 Coastal Forest Leather Balm to protect your favorite gear
🕯️ Beeswax Candles for a cozy rainy day vibe
🍯 Healing Hive Balms and Lip Balms for hardworking hands and dry lips

We are here until the market wraps up, sharing a little piece of our Paradise Valley sanctuary. Come stay warm, say hi to the bees, and support your local growers!

The fragrant pear blossoms are officially open, and our girls have already found their way to the party! 🌸🐝

There is nothing quite like the sweet, delicate scent of a pear tree in full bloom on a sunny afternoon in Paradise Valley. It’s the ultimate signal that the season is shifting, and the hives are humming with new energy.

Spring is in the air (literally!) and we couldn't be happier to see the garden coming back to life.

🐝 Hive Inspection Update: Resilience in Paradise Valley

This update is a special inside look for our Taster Members and CSA community! Today we’ve been busy in the yard checking on the progress of our rebuild.

After a winter of heavy losses, we’ve pivoted to focus on growth and recovery. Currently, the apiary is a mix of veteran strength and new energy:

The Overwintered Survivor: Our lone survivor from the winter is doing us proud! We confirmed today that they’ve successfully raised a virgin queen. Seeing them supersede naturally to carry on their lineage is the ultimate testament to colony resilience.

The 8 New Packages: These newcomers are settling in beautifully. One "star" package has already claimed a frame filled with last year’s honey and fresh pollen, while another is absolutely boiling with bees—workers are literally spilling out of the seams!

The New Generation: We likely have a virgin queen in one of the new packages as well (no brood yet), so we’re keeping a close watch as she matures.

Join the Journey: 8 Taster CSA Spots Open! 🍯

Want to follow these hives all season and enjoy the literal fruits (and honey!) of their labor? We currently have 8 spots remaining for our 2026 CSA Taster program, 20 spots for our Apprentice program, and 12 spots for our Guardian program. Joining the CSA is the best way to secure your share of the harvest, and support regenerative pollinator conservation right here in Squamish.

The spring forage is officially starting to wake up! We are enjoying yellow dandelion, blue borage, white cherry blossoms and green maple blossoms. Our sweet Cicely is also very lush in white blooms, very fragrant too!

Are you seeing any dandelions or maple blossoms popping up in your neighborhood yet? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Did you know your Nectar Glide bar doubles as a deep hydration mask? 🍯🏔️

When the Squamish sun or Sea-to-Sky salt air leaves your hair feeling particularly parched, give it the Deep Hydration Ritual.

How to do it: 1️⃣ After washing, apply the bar more generously than usual, focusing on your ends. 2️⃣ Leave the "nectar" to soak for 3–5 minutes. This allows the Marshmallow Root and Oat proteins to deeply pe*****te the hair shaft for intensive repair. 3️⃣ Rinse clean and enjoy that weightless volume.

It’s the ultimate reset for hair that lives outdoors as much as you do. Have you tried leaving it in for a few extra minutes yet?
