We said “see you later” to our intern Lea this afternoon as we sent her on her next grand adventure. Lea has been a part of not only the farm, but our family, for the past 5 months. It has been a fantastic experience and taught us lots, while also giving us an extra set of hands both on the grain and cattle sides of our operation.

Lea, we will miss you and hope you’ll come back and visit when you can!

I didn’t get many pictures, but it was a beautiful (although a little bit warm!) morning to be out for a tour. After a presentation on carbon mapping, we loaded onto a flat deck trailer and headed out to the Odanna pasture to check out virtual fencing, temporary fence systems, solar water systems and gps ear tags. We are so thankful for the opportunity to partner with Manitoba Beef & Forage Initiatives Inc. for this trial and the chance to put the eShephard grazing collars to the test!

This weekend we made the trip down to Hotchkiss Colorado for our summer Executive Link meetings and farm tour. What a different ecosystem and environment it is on the slopes of the mountains compared to our flat land on the prairies. A huge thank you to our hosts Nate & Kim for sharing their farm, knowledge and experiences with us.

And thank you to our Board for always asking the tough questions, challenging us to be better in our business and for inspiring us to keep our minds open!

We are so grateful for those back home who made it possible for us to be away for the weekend. From looking after the older kids, the dog and the cows, we wouldn’t be able to invest in our business in this way without your help.

Sage had his first big trip, first flights and first EL meetings at 3 weeks old. ♥️
