The Farming Simulator mod contest is back and I'm trying to decide what I want to make for it. I could potentially enter twice for the all platforms mod and a PC only mod which would likely be that it includes an unlicensed brand. Part of it is that it would need to be something popular with lots of players so that it can do well in the contest. I do have lots of projects I'd like to make so this might help guide which ones of those I might choose to do.

Compete in four different categories: Best Mod, Best Map, Best Crossplay Mod, and Volvo Future Construction Machines.

I took my son to the Manitoba Thresherman's Reunion this past weekend where the focus was on celebrating 60 years of Versatile. We got to see a bunch of Versatile tractors including Big Roy and a 60th anniversary edition Delta Track. I got a walk around from one of the Versatile employees showing me all the unique things on the 60th anniversary tractor so that I can make it accurately for FS when I get to doing the decals and other changes they made for it.

Some of you have likely been wondering what I've been up to. I have done a little bit more on the Versatile 4WD project. Including setting parts of it up for my current workflow of doing things where the ingame scripting part can occur alongside modelling and that sort of work. I did run into an issue that broke the exporting of the tractor and the materials which I did figure out eventually but it made me take a little break from modding.

I did spend a fair bit of time enjoying playing the game as my son loves combines and so when I'm on the PC he wants to see the combines and that led to me playing the game instead of modding for the past few weeks.

Unfortunately earlier this week we received 6" of rain in about 3 hours and led to a fair bit of flooding in town. While my basement didn't flood there is a fair bit of moisture coming up through the floor due to the high water table that is being absorbed into the walls and floor from the wet concrete. I'll likely not be having as much time for modding as I'm likely going to be gutting and redoing my basement to fix issues with how things are exposed to moisture when this happens as well as doing some improvements outside the house as well to help prevent this from happening.

I'll likely do some modding here and there when I need a break from renovation work if I can get at my PC but I wouldn't expect to see very many updates for a little while.

Bb Mods is working on an X3 cotton module attachment that will be compatible with the Volvo WIA and any other X3 compatible trucks. Its been on my list of potential projects since FS22 but I've never gotten to doing it so I'm happy to see it happening.

I've gotten the exhaust setup for the 575 mostly completed. I also discovered this system is still used today on tractors built for certain international markets like Australia. So I'll probably do a store item for those tractors as well as they typically had different models and horsepower available.

Exterior model wise there is still the rear hydraulic valve blocks to do as there are possibly 3 different valve arrangements to model. I also need to update my Delta tracks tanks and improve the model of them as they weren't very good on the 22 version of the tractor. I also want to go through and add some more little details around the tractor like bolts and little things like that.

I did a quick little test to check materials and shading on the model in Giants Editor and it's looking good.

I also discovered yesterday while doing some research that there were some 575's built with this design. They are a tier 3 emission tractor so they have a different muffler and air intake. I'm very tempted to add it to the list of potential model options as it wouldn't be too much work and it would add more variety.

I've been working on my Versatile 4WD and Delta Track this weekend. I decided to use more of Giants FS22 model and then add or remake the parts of my model that were better to match theirs. There will be more options and variations between the different tractors since these will cover 2012 to 2026 models and I'll do my best to match the changes over the years to the different models. I've added the 3d elements to the cab roof and fuel tanks to improve appearance over the textured approach on the Giants model.

Things have been a little quiet here lately with seeding going on in real life. Here's a picture I took the other day after harrowing a field to seed research plots on.

The Elmer's HaulMaster did fail testing today so I'll get it fixed up and resubmitted as soon as possible. I was a little surprised with the list considering it had supposedly passed PC testing the first time it failed.
