Overgrazing is a result of “time management!”
Staying too long or returning too soon!

Overgrazing has nothing to do with how much you take or how much you leave behind.

Great group of heifers! Super people to work with too!

It shouldn’t and doesn’t have to be this way. 😞

Our customers are loyal and we’re grateful for that big time!
After that word of mouth does the rest.
We won’t win any ribbons or have any award winning photos but our bulls are sound, functional and selected by nature. Award winners wouldn’t last long here 😉

What if the best cattle in the world are from the breeders with the worst marketing?

Some of the best food you will ever eat comes from small places with faded signs, old buildings, and almost no advertising. Meanwhile, some of the most heavily marketed restaurants in the world serve food that is highly processed, unhealthy, and designed more for appearance and consistency than actual quality.

What if the cattle industry works the exact same way? What if the breeders spending the most money on marketing, videos, photoshoots, banners, and promotion are often the ones that have to work the hardest to convince people their cattle are good?

Truly functional cattle usually do not need to be constantly explained. A cow that breeds back every year, stays sound, maintains herself on grass, and lasts for years does not need a massive marketing campaign to survive. But cattle that require constant feed, management, excuses, and promotion do.

What if many people entering the industry have never been taught how to recognize truly functional cattle, and instead follow the marketing? And once enough money and promotion get behind something, people start assuming it must be true.

What if the best genetics in the world are sitting on ranches with poor websites, old trucks, weak social media, and breeders who spend more time watching cows than building a brand?

Maybe sometimes the louder the marketing is, the more questions you should be asking.

It’s good to have some brown with the green in the beginning of the grazing season. Stockpile pasture is wonderful!

It’s good to have some brown with the green in the beginning of the grazing season. Stockpile pasture is wonderful!

Most farmers know brown and green matter in a compost heap.

Fewer realise the same balance is running — or failing — across every paddock they manage.

Brown feeds the microbes. Green feeds the animals. But green does something else too — actively growing plants pump liquid carbon straight into the soil through their roots, feeding the microbial community in real time.
Get the ratio right and the whole system hums. Get it wrong and you’re fighting your own biology.

It’s not complicated. But it changes everything about how you read a paddock.

Balance above ground builds life below. 🌱
