What a day at the café ☕️🏆

Elaine Chuli and Shiann Darkangelo — two of Altitude Coffee Roasters’ biggest fans — stopped by with the Walter Cup today.

Shiann helped bring that Cup home last season with Montréal, and both of these PWHL stars continue to show up for their community (and for cold brew with a splash of cream). Their support means the world to us and we can’t even begin to describe how honoured we are to host them.

Roaster Jim is a full-on girl dad who tends to fanboy hard every time they walk through the door. The rest of the team usually has to gently remind him to settle down.

Women in professional sports are amazing and inspiring, and we’re so lucky to have incredible local role models like Elaine and Shiann for the next generation (especially Jim’s daughters) to look up to.
Thank you both for sharing this moment with us.

This Thanksgiving we’re reflecting on something that took us a few days to put into words.

The other night we were nominated for Business of the Year alongside so many other incredible local businesses. An amazing business took home the award (well deserved!), and while we’re terrible public speakers and usually need a couple days to figure out what we should have said… it finally clicked on Saturday.

Altitude Coffee Roasters could never win Business of the Year on our own.
We rely on so many other businesses and people to make our brand what it is.

On Saturday we co-hosted Pedal Paddle Pace with our amazing friend Stephanie from NATURAL PATH
We couldn’t have pulled it off without help from:
Heron Heads
Marias Pizza West
Our Kitchen Brantford
Grey Owl Paddles
Grand River Rafting
Sassy Britches Brewing Co. Ltd
…and so many others who showed up with open hearts.

Today we’re most thankful for all the people and businesses in our community who are making a real difference — who believe in our dream of building stronger communities, and who simply choose to be nice.
Being nice to people is the first rule (and the most important rule) of working at our café.

Stronger together because we care.
Happy Thanksgiving, Brantford. We’re grateful for you. 🧡

Throwback to January 2019 — our very first big event as Altitude Coffee Roasters.

This was the Buttertart Festival in Hamilton. Ryan (in the red), Jim right behind him, and Thor on the corner.

Three friends who were still working jobs that didn’t fulfill us, daydreaming over endless cups of coffee about building something that could actually improve our own lives and our community. Covid wasn’t even a blip on the radar yet.

We rented commercial brewers, prepped for days, and somehow managed to completely overload and destroy the venue’s electrical panel. Looking at this photo you’d never know how much panic and self-doubt was running through us that morning.
Just three guys who had finally decided to stop talking about the dream and actually chase it.

A lot has changed since then… and somehow not much has changed at all. There’s still chaos. We still find new and creative ways to “destroy the electrical panel.” But the excitement is still here. The intention is still the same.

We’re still the Alti-dudes — still learning, still messing up daily, and still trying to get a little better every day. Our goal hasn’t changed: make your day a little brighter and leave our community a little stronger than we found it.

Grateful for everyone who’s been on this ride with us from the very beginning. ☕️❤️

We’ve done the Grand Canyon R2R in a day…

We’ve crushed 100 km in 24 hours…

We’ve even survived the Canadian Death Race (and lived to tell the tale)…

But nothing — and we mean NOTHING — prepared us for the ultimate test of endurance:

watching a pot of hot dogs boil while trying not to eat them all before the camera stopped rolling. 🌭😂

Next up on the adventure list:

Pedal Paddle Pace

Brantford’s ultimate multi-sport adventure race. Bike, paddle and run through some of the area’s most beautiful trails, waterways and landscapes—designed for beginners, weekend warriors and experienced athletes alike.

Purple-clad walkers turned up on Saturday at a Brantford cafe on a picture-perfect spring morning ready to hit the sidewalk.

💜 💛

But it wasn’t just a casual stroll through the city’s leafy Dufferin neighbourhood that brought them out.

These philanthropic pedestrians had another purpose: to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis and funds for Hope Jennions, an 11-year-old Brantford girl living with what’s sometimes called the “invisible disease.” That’s because those with CF often appear perfectly healthy on the outside, masking the exhausting, life-threatening and constant physical battles they face on the inside.

“I feel pretty honoured to be the one they’re supporting,” said the Grade 6 student, who spent most of the day at a table outside Altitude Coffee Roasters on Brant Avenue talking to people who have become known as Hope’s Heroes.

Today is the day. 💜💛

This one means a lot to us.

All day today, we’re gathering at our Cafe in support of our friend Hope, her mom Abbey, and their family as they continue navigating life with Cystic Fibrosis.

Hope and Abbey will be at the café with us today, and it would mean the world to see this community show up around them, whether that’s for a coffee, a hug, a lap around the neighbourhood, a flower arrangement, a donation, or just a few kind words.

Spencer and Jim are taking on 50km today, ten 5km loops around the neighbourhood, to raise awareness for CF and support Hope’s medical fund. You can cheer them on, walk a lap with them, or simply stop by and be part of something good.

We’ll be at 174 Brant Ave from 8am-4pm, and there’s so much happening:

💜 Sign a purple heart for our community art project when you complete a lap
💛 Purchase a yellow heart in-café, every dollar goes directly to Hope’s medical fund
☕ $2 from every 320g bag of coffee sold will be donated
🍋 Lavender Lemonade profits will be donated
💐 Limited purple & yellow floral arrangements from Belle Florals-Brantford, with 100% of proceeds going to Hope’s medical fund
🎶 Live music by The Corduroys starting at 1:30pm

May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, but for us, it’s personal.

It’s about showing up for someone we care about. It’s about reminding Hope and Abbey that they are surrounded by people who love them, support them, and are walking beside them.

Some days community looks like big fundraising goals.

And some days it looks like buying a coffee, signing a heart, walking one lap, bringing your kids by, sharing this post, or standing on the sidewalk cheering someone on.

It all matters.

Come see us today at Altitude Coffee Roasters Cafe, 174 Brant Ave, from 8am-4pm.

Let’s make Hope feel the love today. 💜💛

Good coffee. Good people. Good cause.

MAY IS CF MONTH!

…and at Altitude, it’s personal.

Meet the team at the Cafe today: Emily, Sierra, and Spencer. Serving up good coffee, big laughs, and a whole lot of heart.

Emily’s holding our Badass Babe Coffee because every bag (not just Bad Ass Babe) does more than fuel your mornings. A portion of every purchase ($2) helps support Cystic Fibrosis awareness and fundraising efforts that have been close to our hearts for years.

Sierra’s rocking the yellow heart for CF, and YOU can too. Stop by the café and purchase a yellow heart in support of our friend Hope and her medical fund. Every single dollar goes directly to helping her and her family navigate life with CF.

And Spencer? Well… he’s speaking too important banana business.

(We don’t ask questions. We just keep brewing coffee.)

Whether you grab a bag in-store, order online, or sign up for a coffee subscription and save 10%, you’re helping us make a real impact while drinking seriously good coffee.
