These Smoke-filled Skies are Headed to Central and Southern Ontario...
..and should be arriving on Wednesday.
The wildfire smoke we've seen so far has been mostly elevated, creating vibrant sunrises and sunsets but little health concerns to date. That's about to change as a huge plume is making its way south, and putting the smoke much closer to ground level at the same time.
These conditions can be potentially life-threatening for anyone with respiratory ailments such as asthma and COPD. Even healthy individuals may be adversely affected. If you absolutely must go out in smoky conditions, limit exposure as much as possible and/or wear an N95 mask to mitigate the danger.
