We take not letting down customers very seriously.

We ran out of Tomatoes. It happens.

But knowing how many people will be BBQing today, we drove 1.5 hr round trip to get them. This makes no economic sense but we try to earn your trust that we will have what you need any way we can!

Our Cheese Curds have older, more mature siblings!

That was the message Abi and Jenny were trying to share at the wonderfully organized Taste of Glenhyrst event last night.

We brought wheels of our Aged Jersey and Havarti, and we were genuinely surprised by how many people asked if someone else made them for us.

Not a chance.

From cows to the make room to the cheese cave, these cheeses are crafted right here with a whole lot of care, patience, and pride. Months (and sometimes years) of work go into every wheel.

One thing we've realized is that we're much better at making cheese than we are at telling the story behind it. There is so much happening behind the scenes that never makes it onto social media.

We're going to try harder.

Because our cheese curds may get most of the attention, but they have some pretty impressive older siblings.

When we first bought this farm, a lot of people thought we were certifiably insane.

At the time, we were living in a baby blue single-wide trailer and milking cows before and after our full-time jobs. To us, this place looked like the Promised Land.

To everyone else it looked like a post apocalyptic movie set. It looked absolutely nothing like a dairy farm. There were more decrepit boats and abandoned RVs than cows. For the first few months, it felt like our skid steer got a flat tire every other day. The old abattoir (now our cheese plant) had been mothballed just long enough to feel like something straight out of a horror movie.

We've still got a fixer upper on our hands but a fair bit of fixing up has happened along the way.

P.S. - Local Strawberries are devine. We've all agreed that these are waaaay better than last year's crop!
