el Mackay graduated from Liaison College, in their Culinary Arts program in 1999, worked an apprenticeship through McMaster University and continued her Culinary Education obtaining an Honours Diploma from Humber College in 2007. Mackay also took some time to do a European Culinary tour where she studied Italian, French and German cuisines. She completed both her Food Handler's exam and her Smart Serve exam. She has been in the hospitality industry for 22 years. Taking her experience from many different restaurants, she now focuses her talents for each client's event. For the last 5 years Ms. Mackay worked on luxury cruise lines delivering the best in fine dining experiences to guests from all over the globe. Having visited 70 countries she brings unmatched skill and expertise to all her events. Sunflower Catering is more than just event catering specialists! When applying for a job here are few ways you can place your application to the top of the pack-

Do:
-Read the job listed for qualifications required and any benefits, hours or other assests offered to ensure you can actually fit the role, and that the offer fits your needs
-Even you if you apply for a role/position you think might be slightly above your skill set list clearly why you think you can meet the employer's needs or learn the skills needed

Don't:
- Send a generic resume that does not list any of the skills required for the position you are applying for
- Be rude if your application is not accepted, it will only confirm the decision

I recently received an application that had only contact information and a note saying they had their food handler's certificate. Upon receiving a note from me stating I would not be moving forward with their application and wishing them the best this was the reply:

Sorry to hear but it is your lost as I been cooking since I was 15 in camps restaurants and nursing home. I was kinda looking for a place with medical were my spouse had a stroke so iam glad u made the decision for me. Thanks

I’m currently hiring for a Sous Chef / Event Lead position within Sunflower Catering.

I’m looking for someone who can eventually become my “second me” at events — someone I trust to lead onsite, represent the brand professionally, support the team, and create beautiful food experiences even when I can’t physically be there.

The right person:
• Has professional kitchen experience and strong culinary foundations
• Understands allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety deeply
• Is confident with both classical cooking techniques and diverse cuisines

• Has reliable transportation and is comfortable travelling for events

Unfortunately Chef Chantz hasnt recovered, in fact her temp raised to 104.7 this morning.

With a very busy weekend ahead rest is needed. We will be closed again today.

Calls, emails and preorder requests will still be answered.

Tonight's scheduled cupcake class will be rescheduled to June 4th at 7pm all purchased tickets will be transferable.
