Hi friends. Well there were some good guesses on our last post. And 2 people guessed really close. Literally off by 1 second. 1 Can Para's official time as documented by the RCAF staff was 56.4 seconds to pull a Hercules 25 meters. Beating last years time and setting a new personal best by 27 seconds!!.
Congratulations team on an outstanding job. We're very proud of you. And congratulations to Dave Sharp and Jennifer Letz for their guesses of 57 seconds. You've both won a free combo of your choice from Railside. Thanks for playing along.

*Contest time*
Hi friends. The Herc pull was a huge success. The cadets, parents, volunteers and visitors all had a great time. This year 1 Can Para was the only team of cadets to enter!! All other teams were adults! Our team was aged 12-18, plus a few parents and 2 RCAF members. Our team did a remarkable job and came in 4th place overall. Last year's time, and personal best was 1 minute 21 seconds. We're very proud and excited to say the team absolutely crushed that time and set a new personal best!! So in the spirit of competition we've decided to play a little game. Comment below what you think the new personal best time is. Closest guess wins a free meal from Railside. Winner(s) will be announced Monday (Oct 20th) after 6pm. Have a great day.

Hi friends. We will be closed tomorrow (Thursday October 16th) to once again join forces with the Brighton Army Cadets and RCAF members to participate in CFB Trenton's annual plane pull!!! Cadets from all over come and compete with their respective corps in pulling a, Lockheed C-130 Hercules 25 meters across the tarmac. All in support of United Way Hastings and the Prince Edward branch in their endeavors to help local communities.
This is the 2nd year Granny's and Railside have participated in this event and we couldn't be more proud and excited to be part of it. (Seriously, how could we not be pumped, we're pulling a Herc!!)
So let's wish the teams luck and help cheer on the kids from 1 CAN PARA in trying to beat last years time of 1 minute 21 seconds and set a new personal best.

Hi *FRIENDS*. As we all know this weekend is Thanksgiving, and we have been very busy at our bakery. Unfortunately sometimes in business you have to *pivot....pivot....PIVOT* your schedule in order to accomplish all orders and not disappoint anyone. Such was the case this week, *We were on a break!* from Railside for a few days to get the orders completed. Now that we're back open, we're putting on our *Thanksgiving pants* and digging in. This weekend's special takes us way back to 1994. And *oh....my.....god* what a sandwich it is. Stolen straight from Ross's refrigerator at work. Railside is proud to present Ross's, sister's sandwich:
The Moist Maker!!!
A double decker turkey club sandwich!.
With House smoked roasted turkey, (your choice dark, white, both) bacon, cheese, cranberry spread, fried stuffing, shredded lettuce and tomato piled high on top of toasted sourdough bread with a toasted slice of French dipped sourdough in the middle.
Quantity is limited but the flavor is not!
You may be able to get a turkey sandwich anywhere this weekend. But The Moist Maker, is only available at Jer and Mel's Railside.

Hi friends. Were very sorry but we will be closed today (October 7th) and possibly tomorrow (October 8th). Catering and Thanksgiving orders at our mother ship, Just Like Granny's have gotten to be too much for just one person. The captain has rang the bell, "All hands on deck".

Hi friends. RAMMSTIEN has played it's last encore for the season and has now "left the building."
After an intermission on a special for a few days for equipment maintenance and product testing. The next act is now warmed up and ready to rock.. in true Railside fashion, "we're going off the rails" this week. Taking the main stage as one of the last specials of the season. A "Wylde" combination of 2 classics. All the way from the depths of the mind of our own "Crazy Baby", Poutine Princess Lorelai. Please welcome...... are you ready?

Hi friends. When we first took over Railside 2 seasons ago, we met a really nice family who were camping in Presquile. Since meeting them, they've returned to our truck every Tuesday for lunch. Never once missed a week. They've had every special we've had plus a few while in the testing stages. They were very exited to see RAMMSTIEN a few weeks ago, but unfortunately we had sold out.
Because of their weekly visits for lunch I was under the impression they live locally and can come whenever to get food. After a conversation this passed Tuesday I found out they actually come from Toronto every week just to eat lunch at our truck and hit the Boardwalk in Presqu'ile. (If that's not a compliment..I don't know what is)
We only run each special once per season. (That's what makes them special..rarity!) But after finding that out, there's only one thing we can do...
With crunch like a Pantera guitar riff, sauce as smooth as Cliff Burton's bass lines, lettuce as crisp as Ozzy's vocals, a bun as thunderous as Dave Lombardo's drums and more layers than Slipknot!! Taking the stage once more for a final encore.
