Rising Sun Farm Brighton

Rising Sun Farm Brighton ***Closed*** For The 2025 Season. The wee trees need more time to grow after a season of drought. And the lights!

We thank you for your understanding and wish you a blessed Christmas.🌲❤️ One of my earliest memories is of traipsing through my grandparent's woods with my family looking for the perfect Christmas tree. We always had a real tree at our house and I loved waking up to that glorious smell and watching the sunlight sparkle off the ornaments. My mother told me some of my first words were about Christma

s lights "Ooooo...See... Pretty!"

Once we had our own children, Christmas tree day was special. Our preferences divided along gender lines, with the boys voting for a tall narrow tree while the girls wanted the fullest widest tree that could get in the house. They all turned out perfectly once they were decorated. It should come as no surprise then, that owning and operating a Christmas tree farm was on my bucket list. Now on of my great joys of the Christmas season is hearing happy families out in our Christmas tree field hunting out the perfect tree. The sound of children running up and down, negotiating with mom and dad for a bigger tree, making memories, is a priceless gift.

Its tree planting weekend! We thought we had planted in all kinds of weather from blazing sun to pouring rain. Today brought a new surprise as we were pelted with sleet! Thanks to a couple of good friends, 425 trees are in the ground. 200 more to go tomorrow!

Dear Friends of Rising Sun Farm.

As most of you know, last year (Christmas 2024) we were only able to open for one weekend as the trees in our fields needed more time to grow before being ready to grace your homes with their beauty. We hoped for a stellar growing season that would allow us to open as usual for Christmas 2025. Unfortunately this summer saw Northumberland County facing drought conditions - the opposite of what we needed. Our trees simply aren't ready to go to your homes and so we will be closed for the entire 2025 season.

If you are in need of a tree that is 12 ft or taller, and is on the wilder, less pruned, end of the Christmas tree spectrum, we do have a *few* available, by appointment only. If you are interested in one of these cathedral-ceiling height trees, please send a message or call us at the farm to make arrangements for purchase.

If you're looking for any other sort of tree unfortunately we won't be able to assist you in 2025.

We thank you for your loyal patronage over the years, deeply appreciate your understanding, and are hopeful that 2026 will bring better tidings not just for our Christmas trees, but for everyone.

All the best.

Hope Stogryn

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

It is the last day this season to cut your own Christmas tree and visit the tiny Christmas Market. And, yes, we do still have trees!

PLEASE NOTE: We are plowed out after last night's storm, however all surfaces are slippery! Please use caution!
And remember the caution about the deep ditches? Our last customer yesterday put their car in the ditch just outside our house! All are safe, but you do not want to end your Christmas tree adventure with a tow!

We are open today, December 8th from 10am to 4pm. All trees are $60. Cash preferred, etransfer also accepted.

The sunrise from Rising Sun Farm this morning. It looks like another beautiful day to come cut your own Christmas tree!

This is your friendly reminder to dress warmly! Several people came yesterday and commented that it was colder and windier than in town. That is always the case on our hill! We suggest an extra layer!

We are open today through Sunday ( December 6 to 8) 10am to 4pm. All trees are $60. Cash preferred, etransfer also accepted.
