Uncle Chuck I learned has passed, many many wonderful memories from my childhood , sad to learn of his death. He was an inspiration and happy soul. I always loved to visit him when I was a young man, invited me in, stayed at his place a few times when I was down visiting my grandpa John Alexander Ross. He was always in attendance at the family reunions at Wabash Hall. A good friend to my dad. Uncle Chuck you will be missed indeed.

“The Farmer’s Field, Now Still”

The farmers field, now still and hushed, the sound of laughter, forever crushed.

Your steady hands, your furrowed brow, we miss you deeply here and now.

In the farmers field, where you once roamed, we’ll miss you dearly, your love, our home.

Creating Steep Hugel Beds: A Guide to Increased Garden Efficiency

Steep hugel beds, a variant of the hugelkultur gardening technique, are gaining popularity for their ability to enhance soil fertility, conserve water, and boost plant productivity. Recommended by permaculturist Sepp Holzer, these elevated garden beds have distinct advantages:
