In 1990, the Grieve family brought their irresistible shortbread recipe from Renfrew, Scotland to Waterloo, Canada. Their handcrafted shortbread quickly became a tradition within the family, and a favourite amongst everyone that tasted it. The tradition was founded by Alex and Ingrid Grieve, who sold the shortbread at Christmas time to try to help with the family’s bills and to buy gifts for their

three children. Sadly, in 2013 Alex Grieve passed away from a long, ten-year battle against cancer. The rest of the family—Ingrid Grieve, daughters Sarah and Krista, and son Scott—are now carrying on the legacy of their delicious buttery shortbread, which is still made by hand with all of the love that the recipe has always had.
