The most solemn drive to Abbotsford we’ve ever had. This is (so far) the first year in 8 years that Brent has not been on a fire…I know, summer isn’t over yet.
It felt wrong to be driving through this. Spot fires along the highway at a few spots. The destruction of businesses and homes. The helicopter that had to make an emergency landing being taken apart. The people that looked like they just pulled in their yard to look at the rubble that once was their house, pointing at different spots in what I believe was once a kitchen, a living room, their kids’ first bedroom…where so many memories were created…gone💔
Our hearts go out to every single person affected by the fires…we drove through 70 Mile House, Cache Creek…so that’s the carnage we saw but I know there’s so much more down through Lytton and Boston Bar and the rest of that area and our hearts break for you. We pray for relief from the fires and the smoke. We can’t imagine the loss so many of you are experiencing and we pray you come back stronger than ever when this is all over.
