Wild Moon Homestead is dedicated to providing quality Local Produce, raised and grown using Regenerative Agriculture and Holistic Grazing practices as well as other services. Here at Wild Moon Homestead, we are starting to develop a high quality purebred Nubian goat herd. Also, we are continuing with developing a few select working border collies, offering sheep shearing services, and providing pa

sture-raised pork. The goat herd is strictly purebred Nubian dairy goats, their genetics originating from Chilako Nubians in Prince George, BC. Our does and bucks have been health tested CLEAR for Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), Caprine Arthritis Enchephalitis (CAE), and G6S, all common diseases that can be found in the majority of goat herds. Our goal is to develop low-maintenance animals with top notch conformation/health, mothering skills, milk production, and impressive displays of growth/feed conversion. They assist with feeding and shepherding, and are used year round on other ranches on cattle, sheep and goats. We expect our dogs to be tough, biddable, and very natural, we want the dogs to perform on the ranch, in the trial field, and also in the family environment. We find great satisfaction in training a talented individual and shaping them into a hard working ranch partner. We sell started and fully trained border collies, also taking in the occasional client dog. Our sheep shearing rates are as follows:
1-4 ewes: standard $50.
5-20 ewes: $10 each.
20+ ewes: $6 each. Rams: $12 each. Foot trimming: $5 per ewe. Crutching: $4 per ewe.

12-month old Isa Brown hens available.

Over the last few weeks, we have made the tough decision to re-home our flock of young laying hens. These girls are in the prime of their laying career. They were raised on pasture right here on our homestead, they wintered very well, and have been free ranging all spring. Their lay rate is currently 90-95%!! Their legs still have that beautiful yellow colour to them. NOT de-beaked.
Start getting eggs right away, without all the fuss and risk of brooding your own chicks.

Asking $15/hen. Will consider package deals.

Hello Everyone! We're reaching out to all our Monthly Egg-Subscription members to introduce an new initiative or should we say "Egg-nitiative" 😉, to tighten the nutrient cycle on the farm. Those who would like to participate will be provided a container to store their eggshells in, which will be left out on our delivery days (weekly or bi-weekly) for us to collect and bring back to the farm. The shells will then be thoroughly dried and crushed for either use in the garden or returned to our chickens to help replenish the precious calcium spent producing their wonderful eggs!

Please let us know if you would like to participate and we can provide you a container on our next delivery stop. Thank you!

The first few eggs from our young, home raised layer flock have arrived! It looks like we will be able to resume our monthly egg subscriptions slightly sooner than expected.

These wonderful young birds have been with us since the first day of their lives. Immersed in an environment that encourages them to build and fully utilize their natural instincts, consistently moving onto greener pastures with new areas to explore and a comfortable and protected home they can call their own.
