We have decided to raise a few purebred chickens. We are ordering our breeding stock from Murray McMurray Hatchery out of the USA. Why you might ask, it is because I want to to sell both purebred chicks and hatching eggs next year. We want ensure what we are selling is what you are getting. So our pure lines that will be available next year are:
Bielefelder - auto sexing, ya! Great for both meat and nice brown eggs. These chickens are easy to raise and are friendly.
Black Jersey Giant - this big bird is exactly that, roosters can weigh around 13 lbs.
Silver Laced Wyandotte - I think this is one of the most beautiful of chickens.
We will also have our BYM (barn yard mix), Polish and buff Orpingtons.
If this goes well maybe we will bring in a few other purebred lines from Murray McMurray hatchery. Well that is this years plan for next year 😃
