The goats were pretty happy when I brought them some fresh tree branches to snack on today! 🌿🐐

We also officially wrapped up barbed wire fencing for the year! We ended the day ended with two wasp bites, one VERY unhappy wasp nest, barbed wire cuts and poison ivy. 🐴🐝🌿

It’s been a long day 👌

This handsome little guy is growing like a w**d, and we’re loving watching his personality come through. 🤎🐐

He’s got the sweetest mama, a beautiful little build, and he’s already looking right at home out in the pasture. It’s so special about watching these babies grow up on the farm. 🌾

As much as we’d love to keep every single one, this boy will be available for a new home at weaning time. ❤️

There’s a kind of freedom in farm life that’s hard to put into words. ❤️

Where the road is our sidewalk, the goats are part of the family, and a simple afternoon walk turns into an adventure.

No busy streets. No schedules. No rushing from one place to the next. Just sunshine, dirt roads, little muddy boots, and animals following along.

This is the kind of childhood I want for my kids — barefoot, outdoors, surrounded by animals, and growing up knowing the simple things in life are often the best things. 🐐☀️

A little wild. A little messy. A whole lot of country. ❤️

These little meat birds may start out as fluffy babies that the kids cuddle and care for, but they’re also part of the work that comes with homesteading. We’re teaching our kids where their food comes from, the responsibility that comes with raising animals, and that there’s a whole lot more to putting food on the table than a trip to the grocery store.

It’s not always easy to raise animals for meat, especially when you’ve watched them grow from tiny chicks. But there’s something incredibly rewarding about knowing exactly where our food came from, how it was raised, and that we gave it a good life along the way. 🌱🐔

Homesteading isn’t always pretty, but it’s real, meaningful, and worth it. 🤎

There’s something so special about waiting for baby goats to arrive. 🐐🤎

You watch mama closely, check on her a hundred times, wonder how many babies she’s carrying, and anxiously wait for those tiny little hooves to make their appearance.

And then… the moment finally comes. 🥹

You see that sweet little face, those wobbly legs, and your heart instantly melts. Only to discover… it’s a boy. 💙

As much as we love every single baby born here, there’s always a little bittersweet feeling when it’s a buckling. Girls can usually stay and become part of the herd, while boys generally need to find new homes once they’re old enough.

So you love them just as much, knowing from the very beginning that your time with them may be temporary. 💔

But for now, this little guy is getting all the cuddles, care, and love he deserves. Welcome to the world, little man. 💙🐐

Farm life is beautiful, messy, exciting… and sometimes a little heartbreaking. ❤️

Big boy Promise has got dental work done, he did fairly well after being sedated twice lol he was not cooperative however 90% of the work was completed and we are seeing way less feed being dropped.

This boy turned 20 in June, he will need extra TLC to put his weight back on. He’s now enjoying a pasture all to himself meanwhile being able to see his buddies on the other side of the fence
