Don’t fall for the trap of “organic” and “grass fed” labels that big dairy companies use to charge you a premium price.

Organic and grass fed doesn’t mean much if the cattle is not healthy and happy plus gets pasture access throughout the year.

Let’s do some myth busting, shall we?

In this first episode of “Is It Actually Healthy Or Just Marketing Hype?” I wanna talk about Avocado Oil.

The health industry has convinced you that Avocado Oil is this miracle oil that is good for you because Avocados are good for you.

While I 100% agree that Avocado is great for you, Avocado Oil simply isn’t.

Why?

Because it’s not even made from Avocados. It’s made with the same stuff that is used to make your generic, unhealthy seed oils.

The ones that are made from Avocados are made from ones that are being discarded because they weren’t good enough to be sold in grocery stores.

So what do you think?

OG Ghee is finally coming to Calgary Co-op!

BUT - we’re not gonna be where you’d expect us to be ;)

Let me explain…

We have been trying to get OG Ghee into Calgary Co-op for a few years now.

Our brand is everything that a big grocery store looks for and more.

We are a 100% local, Canadian brand, we have won many awards, and we were also on the FRONT PAGE of the newspaper.

But every year, for one reason or another, Calgary Co-op hands OG Ghee a BIG FAT NO :(

So this year we’re doing things differently.

We’re not gonna be in your cooking oil or international food sections.

We are coming to Calgary Co-op with a collab product.

We’re collaborating with our good friends over at Noto Gelato and bringing the Brown Butter Espresso ice cream made with OG Ghee to a Calgary Co-op near you!

When you are a small, authentic brand trying to get yourself out there - more times than not you have to be super creative in how you do it.

See unlike the BIG GUYS who can put ungodly amounts of money behind their products, we have to look for unorthodox ways to market our brand.

We are not complaining though. We actually very much prefer this.

Why?

Because this lets us be super creative, unabashed, and scrappy. This is why started building our brand in the first place.

To create something of value for our community. To build something with the people we loved. Take risks that can change the cooking oil industry.

This summer we hosted A TON of pancake breakfasts for Calgary Stampede to serve popcorn popped in OG Ghee to our community for free.

Folks LOVED it 😊
