Kneada

Kneada After running my own baking business for the past 10 years I have learnt A LOT. Kneada recipe, Kneada guide, or Kneada hand? Let’s get into it 💜
(10)

What started as a bit of fun in my parents home kitchen eventually turned into full time jobs for my biz partner and I. We had a commercial kitchen space, a custom packaging range, branded delivery vehicles, managed staff & held pop up events in our local town. At the start of this year, I stepped back and reflected on everything we built — and everything I learnt. Now, I’m putting that experience

into Kneada: a space for thoughtful recipes, practical guides, and a gentle hand for other bakers and small business dreamers. Whether you’re here to recreate our best-loved bakes (IYKYK) or grow something sweet of your own, I hope you find something helpful here.

What ACTUALLY works to bake these chunky cookies?

🍪 Use cold chopped butter (literally straight from the fridge)
🍪 Don’t cream butter & sugar together
🍪 Use brown and white sugar for the best flavour
🍪 Mix by hand as much as possible and use low speeds on the mixer to avoid over mixing!
🍪 Incorporate mix ins with dry ingredients before they go in the mixer
🍪 Add eggs LAST with an extra yolk
🍪 Pull apart the dough before portioning to avoid it being dense (don’t skip this one!!)
🍪 Shape the dough in your hands without rolling around (NO cookie scoop)
🍪 Store dough in the freezer and bake straight from frozen

I thought being a good baker meant I could bake cookies on the first go butttt i was wrong..

It took me ages to figure out how to bake consistent cookies that I didn’t stress about every time they went in the oven 😅

Now I’ve bundled it together so that we can all start baking better cookies, some of you are already seeing the benefits 🥹

Comment CHUNKY and I’ll send you the link to grab it

P.S. This works if you’re selling to customers or just want a stash of cookies at home 😏

Oh and one last thing.. ALWAYS weigh out all your ingredients and portion your dough on a scale in grams (no cup measures)

The bundle is also linked in my bio, it’s $11

I sell these cookies for nearly 4x what it costs me to make them which is a massive bonus!

I always use the freezer for storage of the cookie dough, so only bake what’s needed or ordered. This means no wasted ingredients, time or money. Pre orders have helped me make my business profitable from very early on

Things that help me sell consistently:

🌼 Use flavours people recognise but make them my own. Biscoff was and still is one of my best selling flavours. Like who doesn’t love Biscoff?! It’s a familiar favourite people know and love… You don’t need to overcomplicate it with fancy names that leave people questioning what the flavour actually is

🌼 Don’t just focus on how the top looks! Give a surprise on the inside. I never really put anything on top of my cookies because there’s already so much deliciousness stuffed inside! You can use round ice cube trays to freeze your fillings so they fit perfectly inside the cookie

🌼Show different parts of the cookie in your content & marketing. I think cookies are quite hard to take pics of. That’s why it’s fun to show the bts of making them, break one open after baking, show the gooey inside and how indulgent it tastes! Reels and stories are good for this too

🌼 Use a recipe/method that I can actually count on without unpredictable results. I can capitalise on large or last-minute orders and give customers the option of mixed-flavour boxes (because nobody wants a box full of the same thing). It also makes experimenting with new flavours wayyyy easier and predictable too

🌼 Make them look consistent every single time. People buy with their eyes first, and nothing builds trust like a cookie that looks exactly like the one they saw in my photo. I weigh each dough ball so the bake is even, the shape is perfect, and every flavour looks identical in a mixed box. Consistency = repeat customers!

I’ve put together my best selling flavours (12+), all into one bundle for you bake at home for friends & family OR sell to your customers

It includes all my tips & tricks to make cookies that actually taste as good as they look 👀

Bakers, are you ready for Father’s Day this weekend!?

Cupcakes, cookies and brownies are some of the PERFECT gifts. They’re thoughtful yet affordable, easy enough for customers to order last minute (there’s still time to take orders!

A few tips to help make it smoother for you:

💙 Keep your menu simple. Gift buyers don’t need too many options!
💙 Prep ahead (boxes, ribbons, gift notes, ingredients, bake schedule)
💙 Set & communicate a clear delivery/collection window to avoid endless questions
💙 Charge extra for your extra effort. Gift tags, premium packaging, toppers — even an extra $1-2 adds up
💙 Offer options for different budgets ($15 gift, $25 box, $35 treat box)
💙 Show an example of each product. Customers want to know exactly what they’re buying
💙 Make your photos look appealing! Good lighting, no blur, no messy backgrounds. People eat with their eyes first
💙 Pre-set your designs and flavours. Trust me, saying yes to every amendment gets messy fast when orders pile up
💙 If you still have availability, consider running a flash sale. There are always people looking for a last-minute gift for Dad, so it’s a great opportunity to bring in a few extra orders

I really think simple but effective products and designs are the way forward. Everything I baked fit nicely into my baking schedule for the week 🤗

The idea of creating fancy products & flavours is lovely, but when it comes to delivering the orders it can be a lot of extra work (and often it’s unnecessary!)

My Baker’s Bundle has everything you need to make not only Father’s Day a success, but all the future occasions to come 🥹

Proven recipes, sales tips to fill your order book, and dedicated info on exactly how to set up for occasions like this

Comment BUNDLE and I’ll send you the link to it 🤗

You’d only need to make ONE sale but it could set you up for a potential lifetime of success!

I ALWAYS have freshly baked cookies whenever I want or need them

I prep a whole batch then store them in the freezer (skip the fridge & go straight for the freezer)

It saves time because the work is already done

So when I’m ready to bake, I only bake what I need

I don’t worry anymore about how they’ll turn out because I trust this method completely

My cookies come out exactlyyy how I want them! Every single time

Not only do they taste good (obvs) but I never have to stress about waste

I know they’ll bake consistently

If a last minute order comes in (or I just have a cookie craving 👀)

They’re ready to go straight in the oven

It’s also SO easy to add them into selection boxes which are super fun for customers to buy

Once the dough is prepped and weighed, it goes in the freezer

It actually helps with the texture when it bakes

But it also means I can build up a supply of different flavours ready to go

I’ve been baking these cookies for almost 6 years and selling them for almost 5! They’ve never let me down

That’s exactly why I created the bundle, so I can help other bakers make their cookie life better (and easier)

Comment FROZEN and I’ll send you the link to grab it 🍪💖

You can also find the bundle in my bio and it’s $11

So what ACTUALLY makes people want to buy from you? ..

I realised people don’t buy from me just for the bake or because something looks tasty (like it’s not about the cookie or cake itself!)

They buy them to: cheer someone up, bring something to a work event, be the centrepiece at a family gathering, make a moment feel special

And when I actually understood that… everything changed!

I stopped guessing what to post

I stopped constantly changing my menu

I stopped waiting around for orders

That’s when orders became consistent. Because I wasn’t relying on people randomly treating themselves… I was selling to people who already had a reason to buy

Most bakers are trying to sell products that look good

I was selling: convenience, gifting & solutions to “I need something for this…”

Which is why I had orders coming in every single day (not because I got lucky) buttt because I understood how people buy

That’s exactly what I break down inside my bundle

Not just what to bake (although the best selling recipes are included hehe)

but what actually gets people to say yes

So instead of hoping your next post brings orders… you know how to create them

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start building something consistent

Comment BUNDLE and I’ll send you the link 🥹

P.S. this is also where I share the exact products that sold over and over again for me — so you’re not just learning how to sell, but what to sell too!
