Orca Fest was about more than good food and great company this year. Thanks to everyone who grabbed a plate at the BBQ, you helped raise $1,812 for North Island Community Services Society.

These funds will go directly toward Shannon Llewellyn’s Family Connections programs, which include Promising Babies and CAPC (Canadian Action Program for Children). Both programs operate as weekly drop-ins in Port McNeill and Port Hardy, providing valuable support, resources, and connection for local families.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for each other, one plate at a time. Thanks again to everyone who joined us!

Good salmon farming starts long before a fish sees the ocean. Careful broodstock selection, genetic screening, and years of research go into choosing the healthiest fish to breed from. From there, they spend their first stages of life on land, in hatcheries built to keep them healthy and protected, cared for by teams who've spent years learning how to do this well. Innovation starts with a single healthy egg.
