Easter this weekend and picked up 30 new day old chicks to pick up the slack in the coop come the summer. A variety of 3 breeds to give us the different coloured eggs our customers love.

I am 2 days old today and normally Mom and I would be headed outside to join the aunties and cousins, but the weather is nasty, so the people are giving us a 3rd day in the maternity pen inside the barn. I have lots of guard dogs sleeping nearby too!!

Another cold January -20C day, but Poppie doesn't seem to mind, still joyfully running at full speed around the yard while I was bedding their shelter for the night. When the tail goes up, you know it will be a flat out sprint. Before I took the video, she came tearing up to see what I was doing, but before I could pet her, she smirked and took off again!

First calf of 2026 turned 1 week old today. Poppie is our first calf sired by Kaboom, amazing genetics, an easy birth, up quickly and nursing. Expecting a half sibling this week for her to play with, until then she will continue to visit and play with her "aunties".
