Spring garden updates

Mushroom growing. A new endeavor for the farm. We are leaving the trunk of the maple tree with enough nodes to regrow future mushroom logs. Inspired from Japanese forestry practices. Instead of cutting a tree down one tree can become multiple trees that keep supplying hardwood forever. This is actually the last Maple on the property due to a bit of overcutting, from when we first cleared the land.

So I'm going to attempt to keep this tree alive. Only harvesting, one third of it's wood at a time and hopefully we will have a little shiitake production factory for years to come.
