🌾🌿 Lanark County in a Cask. Fresh Valley Cascade! 🍺

We're keeping things close to home with today's cask, and this one's another celebration of some seriously good local ingredients!

It's Down by the River – American Wheat Ale (5.3% ABV), conditioned in cask and dry hopped with Valley Cascade hops from our friends at Battle House Hops, grown right here in Lanark County.

Cascade is a classic hop known for its bright grapefruit, citrus zest, and delicate floral aromas, with a touch of pine and herbal character. With a generous dose of locally grown Valley Cascade going straight into the cask, we're expecting a beautiful burst of fresh hop aroma that pairs perfectly with the soft, smooth wheat character of Down by the River.

And the local connection doesn't stop there. Down by the River is brewed with 100% Mississippi Mills Malting Company malt, produced right here in Lanark County.

Lanark County malt. Lanark County hops. Brewed right here in Carleton Place. It really doesn't get much more local than that!

On cask, Down by the River is an absolute treat. Soft natural carbonation, a silky-smooth texture, and a refreshing, easy-drinking finish that lets those fresh local hops shine.

As always, this one is poured from our genuine hand-pumped b**r engine, and it's one of the only true cask b**rs you'll find in the valley. There's only one cask, and they rarely last more than 24 hours.

Thanksgiving weekend is behind us. The leftovers are piling up, and if you spent half the weekend cooking, hosting, or cleaning up after everyone, you probably deserve a night off.

Taco Night is back this Thursday, October 15, and it's a pretty great time of year to make the trip to Carleton Place.

The fall colours are putting on a show, our little downtown is looking beautiful, and we've got a cozy brewery full of good food, good drinks, and people enjoying a Thursday night out.

🌲 Cask Alert: Zigzagger Goes Tropical 🍺

We’ve got a fresh cask pouring today, and this is a pretty damn good hop combination.

It’s Zigzagger – Red IPA (7% ABV), conditioned in cask and dry hopped with Galaxy and Mosaic.

Zigzagger already brings loads of big, piney, resinous hop character from Simcoe, the star of the show in the base b**r. For this cask, Galaxy and Mosaic add a whole other layer. Galaxy brings big passionfruit, peach, and bright tropical citrus, while Mosaic piles on mango, citrus, berry, and a touch of pine.

Put it all together and you get this really cool mix of pine, resin, tropical fruit, citrus, and dark berry, all sitting on top of Zigzagger’s rich malt body and distinctive ruby-red colour.

On cask, it’s drinking beautifully. Soft natural carbonation and that silky cask texture round everything out without taking away from the bitterness and big hop character that make Zigzagger such a unique IPA.

As always, this one is poured from our genuine hand-pumped b**r engine, and it’s one of the only true cask b**rs you’ll find in the valley. There’s only one cask, and they rarely last more than 24 hours.

Zigzagger doesn’t come around all that often. Zigzagger with Galaxy + Mosaic on cask comes around even less.

🌾🌿 Lanark County in a Cask 🍺

We’ve got a pretty special cask pouring today. It’s Down by the River – American Wheat Ale (5.3% ABV), and we’ve loaded this one up with a boatload of fresh-crop Lanark Centennial hops from our friends at Battle House Hops.

Down by the River is already about as local as b**r gets around here. We proudly brew it with 100% Mississippi Mills Malting Co. malt, grown and malted right here in Lanark County, and for this cask we’re leaning even harder into our own backyard with fresh Lanark Centennial from Battle House Hops .

Centennial is a classic for a reason. Expect loads of bright grapefruit and citrus, with lemony, floral, and lightly piney notes underneath. With a big dose going straight into the cask, that fresh hop aroma sits beautifully on top of the soft, smooth wheat character of Down by the River.

Lanark County malt. Lanark County hops. Brewed right here in Carleton Place. This is our little corner of the Ottawa Valley in a pint.

And on cask, it’s drinking beautifully. Soft natural carbonation, silky texture, huge fresh-hop aroma, and an incredibly easy-drinking finish.
