The Holmstead is a family hobby farm specializing in registered Nigerian Dwarf goats. We are active members with the Canadian Goat Society.

We also enjoy laying hens, heritage turkeys, meat chickens, and our guardian dogs.

🐐 The farm store is officially OPEN for the season! 🌿

Come visit us Wednesday through Saturday all summer long from 9–4. Stop in to see the goats, stock up on your favourite soaps, grab fresh eggs (when in stock), and browse all our goat milk goodies.

Summer hours are here! 🐐
We’re opening May 14th — Thursday to Saturday for the long weekend, then Wednesday through Saturday right through the summer. Come on out!

As the year comes to a close, we just want to say thank you! 💛

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our farm store, markets, placed online orders, and to the amazing retailers who carry our soaps on their shelves.

Every bar we make starts right here on our farm, and it means more to us than we can say that you choose to bring our products into your homes, your routines, and your shops. Your support—big or small—keeps this little farm business going and growing, and we are so incredibly grateful for each of you.

From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here’s to rest, renewal, and good things ahead in 2026.

Holiday mode in full swing (it has been for a while actually) 🎄💪🐐

We’ll be at the Carling Christmas Market tomorrow 11–3 — come say hi and snag your seasonal soaps + goodies! ✨

AND big news 👀 — we’ll be at the Royal Winter Fair Nov 12–16 for the first time ever! Catch us there in the Northern Pavilion 😉

We’ve been a little quiet… turns out prepping for markets, wholesale biz + winterizing goats = chaos 😂
But don’t worry, we’re still here — just covered in soap batter + hay.

🚜 FARM STORE CLOSED SATURDAY JULY 26 🐐

We’re hitting pause this Saturday for a little family recharge (and maybe a nap in the hay). The farm store will be closed for the day — apologies for the inconvenience!

If the hens pull off a miracle and lay a few extras, we’ll pop the eggs in the roadside stand. No promises — they don’t like to work weekends. 😉

There’s a few new faces around here (likely here for the cute goat pics — we don’t blame you 🐐📸).

…But out here, our goats aren’t just cute faces (though they are easy on the eyes). 🐐💛
They’re the heart of what we do.

Every bar of soap, every bottle of cream and lotion we make starts with fresh milk from our own herd — raised right here on the farm, with a lot of fresh air, sunshine, love and the occasional attitude problem.

No shortcuts. Just real-deal, cold-processed goat milk soap made in small batches with good clean ingredients.

From our barn to your bathroom — thanks for sudsing up with us.

Well, after a chaotic spring full of farm things, kidding season, muddy boots and soap making, I figured it would be a good time to jump on here and say…

The farm store is officially open for the season!

We’re here Wednesday through Saturday, 9am to 4pm, stocked with the good stuff—goat milk soap, farm fresh eggs, cheese and other goat milk related products.

And yes, we’ve expanded the chicken flock to try and keep up with the fresh egg demand :)

I’ve been a bit quiet on here (because, well… goats), but we’re ready to welcome you back to the farm.

Thanks for sticking with us—and for loving this seasonal way of life.
