Environmental Stewardship:
Our Alberta farm is a part of the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan Program and has been designed from the get-go with environmental mitigation in mind. Building and corral locations were chosen for optimal runoff management, we grow our feed supplies, manure windrow composting first field fertilizing, implement a minor rotational grazing program, riparian fencing, solar waterer, shelter belt upkeep and establishment and nesting box placement (for mountain bluebirds and tree sparrows and soon some for an american kestrel monitoring program). Fence lines wherever possible within the property are limited to three lines of wire or less to allow for ungulate and other wildlife ease of passage but keeping the cows in.

We have one yearling angus bull available privately off the farm. He’s out of a first calf heifer we are pretty high on and out of our Riverstone Stockyard herd bull. He’ll be sure to leave you some great calves. Message for more info and price. Brian @403-392-2535

Todays highlight is our heifer bull option RWL 125K NINJA 7N. This guy is long and smooth shouldered. Weighed up at 1310 and measured at 37cm scrotal. He will give you calves that come easy and grow. Sired by the calving easy sire we bought out of Riverstone a couple years ago and he is sure leaving his mark in our herd.

Here is RWL 2F Major 41M our other 2yr old bull. He is a paternal brother to McCormick 11M. He measured up with 42cm scrotal. His dam is a long deep bodied cow with great feet and udder. He’ll make you some replacement quality females and long stout steer calves for sure. The Dodge City Shootout

With sale day only 4 short days away we will highlight our 5 consignments. Starting off with our big guy RWL 2F McCormick 11M. This guy is long, thick, good footed and easy to look at. McCormick measured up with 48cm scrotal. He is backed by lots of maternal power top and bottom in his pedigree. He is definitely worth the look if your looking for that bull to make you females. 📣 Alberta Beef Producers has released the following statement regarding proposed traceability changes:

Alberta Beef Producers objects to proposed traceability changes and announces intent to form traceability working group

Following extensive producer engagement, including 15 Producer Meetings and a dedicated Town Hall, ABP delegates passed a resolution at the 2026 Annual General Meeting directing the creation of a traceability working group. ABP, alongside governments and other cattle organizations, will work to address deficiencies and producer confidence in the current model before further changes can be considered.

Effective disease readiness and trade access require a traceability system that works in practice, not just in policy. It must be supported by proven technology, reflect the realities of cattle production, and limit undue costs or administrative burden. Without that foundation, the system will not achieve full producer participation and will not work as intended.

The proposed amendments to Part XV of the Health of Animals Regulations (Identification and Traceability), as advanced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), create significant challenges for beef producers and ABP cannot support them in their current form.

Alberta Beef Producers fundamentally supports traceability and the safeguards it provides to our industry, including strengthening disease preparedness, protecting market access, and maintaining consumer confidence.

ABP is grateful for the producer engagement from across the province. The participation and feedback ABP has received reflect a shared determination to get traceability right, and this working group will be a high priority for ABP going forward.
