Between getting the fields ready, lambing, calving, and general spring chaos we haven’t been posting much. But now we’re getting back into it!

The Homestead Market in Stettler this weekend was a great time, we met so many new people and of course it’s the perfect time to gush about our birds with other feather fanciers.
Call ducks were a definite favourite, and we totally understand! We love our little flock. As they are seasonal layers, hopefully we will have more ducklings in 2027 to share with everyone.

3 more days until the Homestead Market! We will have a great selection of off-heat chicks for everyone this year. No heat lamps required.

Warning: attending the Homestead Market may result in coming home with “just one chick” and somehow leaving with ducks, hatching eggs and a whole new personality trait. 🐥🦆

Plus… Mother’s Day is Sunday, and honestly, nothing says “I love you Mom” quite like enabling her farm animal addiction.

The lambs are a month old now, and we’re excited to watch them grow up! “Ears” was our largest lamb of the season and still holds the title of chunkiest lamb.

I tend not to keep too many extra roosters around. But this little Lavender Cochin Roo has my heart 😍 We’re not breeding Cochins anymore, but this handsome boy gets to live out his life as a yard rooster.

First time out of the winter pens this spring, there’s so much exciting mucky things to be pecked at!
