Our corn is flourishing after the row cover was removed last Thursday. A little fertilizer, some much needed rain, cultivation last night and heat today!! We can hear it growing today. #☀️🌽🌽🌽🌽☀️

It’s been a very busy few days around the farm.
The first block of corn had the plastic removed yesterday, the last planting of corn went in today.
Ian planted “Smarties” today, 😉 aka Decorative Pumpkins, they look pretty cool when mixed all together. Meanwhile the blueberries are coming into bloom.
With a little heat, the farm comes alive 🌱🌽

Looking for a summer getaway on the farm, we have a great location right on our farm.
During the corn season the house is equipped with all the corn boil and bbq essentials.

A late night around the community tonight. Lots of planting happening before the forecasted rain. We do need the rain, but so much planting to be done. Ian squeezed in another planting of corn tonight. So thankful to be part of such of amazing group of farmers ❤️🌽

The farm was a busy place today — crop scouting the corn fields, land prep for more corn and soybean planting. The corn has been struggling with the cold weather, but the past few days have been exactly the kind of weather corn loves. More goes in tomorrow, and as you can see, we have corn at many different stages of growth. The crop scout helpers were impressed with what they saw.🐶🌽

Mother Nature is testing us again this year. The high winds have been relentless, and every trip to the field seems to uncover more work waiting for us.
But there’s a bright spot—baby corn is starting to poke through the soil 🌱 Now the focus shifts to keeping it protected, covered, and warm as it gets established.

We are a bit late getting this posted, but the corn season has started🌽 It’s not often you can get Ian to take a break from planting, but when your first grandchild arrives it’s a quick dash from the field. We are thrilled to add a new niblet to the family🌽❤️
