Garden experiment update! In the last 7 weeks, we’ve had little more than 1” of rain. I’m sure that has contributed with the lack of weeds and grass regrowing but, the wool has done a beautiful job of keeping the soil moist and cool. With an average of high 20 degree days some low 30’s, the grass root pull out nicely, without struggle and I only need to water typically once a week still, for the plants with with wool at least, anything with out wants to be water at least 3 times in this heat.

I think I’ll definitely have to add extra support posts for the tomatoes for next year 🤔

For probably 30 years give or take, my mom has used the grass clippings in her garden and flower beds. So I’m going to try some on top of the wool and some below the wool, we shall see what happens 🫣🤗

Slow is fast as they say. We were a little concerned getting these ladies and their babes across the road - mostly the few younger calves and the dozen purchased animals - but as you can see it went very smooth. This chunk of grass has not seen the cows since our winter bale grazing - which looks FANTASTIC! With seed heads reaching the trucks mirror! We are extremely impressed with this years grass

Clint was absolutely tickled pink and giggling excited with all the sainfoin plants that are FINALLY coming up. We have been trying to get this plant in particular established on all pastures for about 6 years….
