Summer Student Position Available!
Unique skills are required for this full time summer student position at Woodmere Standardbreds and Eastriver Farms. Farm duties will include horse handling and feeding, assisting during veterinary reproductive visits, barn cleaning, painting, and general yard maintenance.
Woodmere farms is a broodmare farm located 5 minuntes from Charlottetown, east on Route 2/ St. Peters Road. Across the road and under the same ownership is East River Holsteins and Mill Creek Speckle Park. The horse farm has about 40-50 horses including broodmares, foals, stallions, and yearlings.
The ideal candidate will be quick paced, self-directed and detail orientated. Experience with horses is necessary. This position is not limited to duties at Woodmere and may include helping out with activities as needed at the cattle farm as well. This is an ideal position for an agriculture student or a vet student with an interest in large animal practice.
