Garlic Harvest. Next step is braiding and hanging to cure. This is about 2/3's of the Music porcelain variety harvest. The biggest and best bulbs will be saved for planting next years crop.

We plan to add Russian Red this year as it was a favorite of ours when we were in Edmonton and also likely add an elephant variety.

Meet Anne and Gilbert. As a kid we had a neighborhood gobbler (Tom) that would literally chase us down on our bikes, as such I've been hesitant to get a pair of breeding turkeys. Luke MacDougall brought these two home yesterday when I was working a 12 hour shift.... they are so sweet!!! Gilbert comes right up for treats and scratches.

Maybe my turkey PTSD will be calmed.

We are so grateful to be part of the Loop - Rescue Food, Rescue the Planet program.

Not only does it reduce the feed bills but it saves usable food from being discarded.

Many families love the convenience of prepared foods, but never consider the volume scraps/peelings and trim that this creates. While not useful for human consumption it is valuable calories for animals.

Thanks to Good's Independent for being a part of this exciting venture with us.

We have quail eggs for sale! $4/ dozen.

Quail eggs are very nutrient dense and "richer tasting" as they have a higher yolk to white ratio.

These cute little eggs make great appetizers, garnish and are fantastic for making bite sized pickled eggs. Or use them to replace chicken eggs at a 3:1 ratio.
