Hello, September! 🍂
September has always felt a little like a fresh start… and this year, it feels especially true for us.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been rethinking, reimagining and getting ready for a new beginning at The Little Market. 🤎
Some things will change. Some things will stay. And a few new ideas are beginning to take shape that we can’t wait to share with you.
For now, we’ll just say… a new season is beginning. 🍁✨

My daughter is visiting from Toronto for a few days, and we got talking about Chatham and what it’s like living in a smaller community.

At one point she said,
“There should be somewhere you can go and actually meet people.”

It stuck with me. I felt her. Having just come here 3 years ago I knew it wasn’t easy finding something social to do. Sometimes you just want somewhere to go, hang out even if you’re alone.
So it got me wondering…
What are others thinking?

RIP Dolly!
Some people just seem invincible. Dolly Parton was one of those people for me.
From my childhood until today, she was always there — the music, the sparkle, the humour, and above all, the class. She never seemed to forget who she was or where she came from.
Saying goodbye feels a little like saying goodbye to a piece of childhood.
What a woman. What a life. What a legacy.
Goodbye, Dolly. We will always love you. 🤍

Is it just me, or did summer suddenly start slipping away?
There’s only one week left of August, and I really noticed the change over the last couple of rainy days. There’s a little chill in the air, the days are getting shorter, and somehow September suddenly feels very close.
I’m never quite ready to say goodbye to summer. I love the long days, being outside, spontaneous visits with friends and that feeling that there’s still plenty of time left in the day.
But it got me thinking about the season ahead too — cooler days, cozy sweaters, warm drinks and finding different ways to get out of the house and spend time with people.
So I’m curious, what do you actually look forward to doing when the cooler weather arrives? And what do you wish there was more of to do around Chatham when summer is over?
