Meat birds batch #2 are adjusting well to the tractor.
It's hot, but they are managing.
I'm knocking on wood and crossing my fingers cause you just never know what will happen.
First batch is processed and in the freezer.
Message is you'd like to pick up whole or half pasture raised chicken.

We got a new batch of meat chicks yesterday.
We've had a bit of a hard, weird spring.
I know we're not alone.
The weather has been all over the place, and the plants and chickens aren't too sure what to do about it.
Still, we try our best.
So far, this batch is fairing better than the last, so fingers crossed, we are optimistic.

Meat birds!
They are 3 weeks old now.
I've been crap at updating, but here they are, growing well.
We'll be moving them outside to the chicken tractor at the beginning of next week.

What a gorgeous day!!!!

I've spent most of the day outside, just trying to get stuff ready.

Chicken chores, garden chores etc....

Wr are doing the Picton Farmer's Market this year. It's our first time, so we went with a half season.

The Market starts on May 10th but our first Sunday will be May 17th.

In the past week we have picked up three different types of birds and added about fifty friends to our flock.
Some just temporary.... yum chicken....
Some who will grow up to lay us beautiful eggs,
And some, like this one, who have arrived already laying.
Lots of eggs coming your way!
We're going to open up the farmstand next week. Until then, you can keep messaging for eggs.
