I've been stocking the table at home (DM for address) with fresh, local veggies. We don't use chemicals or sprays. All land we grow on was or is certified organic. Some certification lapsed but no chemicals have been used at all in the last decade or more.

Availability changes, but I currently have (September 12):
Chard
Carrots
Cucumbers
Zucchini
Gem Squash
Crookneck Squash
Tatume/Calabacita
Garlic
Kale
Tiny Pumpkins
Decorative Gourds
Cherry Tomatoes
And Popcorn!!!
Black Dakota Popcorn is both very decorative and very tasty! Hang in your window for a week or a month for decoration, then take the kernels off the cob and pop like you would regular popcorn!!

I also have Beyond Catnip toys, teas and catnip available by request. Catnip Mosquito Repellent is also available - makes a good room spray or fragrance as well!!

Just a little glimpse at some of the plants growing up to become lovely produce for us to share.

Little seedlings that will grow into herbs, veggies and flowers! I love all of the different shapes and shades!

30 Jan 2021 Sometimes cuts have to be made… by Curious Kestrel | Posted in: Uncategorized | 0 Yesterday hurt. Physically and mentally, it hurt. My hands turned that bluey-purple colour that they do when they aren’t happy, my face and lips stung from the wind, and my muscles are now asking me why...

Seeds have arrived!!! And so has my website!
Yes, I have many more seed packets not pictured, as well as other shipments still in transit.

The first step in my journey as a farmer wasn't simply buying the seeds and placing them in the ground - it involved many, many hours researching different varieties and visiting many seed suppliers' websites.
My spreadsheet is still far from complete, but it has over 175 varieties listed so far. Filling in the blanks is a work in progress, as is my new website!!! I'm too excited to wait until it is perfect, though, so I am sharing my first blog post with you all!
My website images get all messy if the web window is the wrong size and I'm not sure the menu will show up on a small screen, but I'm pleased with how far I've managed to get it in the few days I have worked on it.

To my Abbotsford and Chilliwack friends: I will have a wide range of transitional-organic produce starting around May and I might have plants to sell before that. I will more than likely be attending the Yarrow Farmers' Market and may be able to provide deliveries to certain areas.

"Transitional" just means that I don't have a track record proving I know how to keep the correct records and follow the organic guidelines. I will be growing organically (without any chemicals at all, if I can) on land that has been and still is certified organic land. The seeds I am using are organic as well. Once I have proven myself to the certifying body, then I can use the organic label!

If you'd like updates on my blog or want to be notified when I have fresh produce, please message me via Facebook or fill out the Contact Form on my website. I think it is finally working properly!
