🍁 **What a day… 🍁🔥**

Monday was cold — no sap running. But we knew the weather was about to turn.

At **10:30pm**, the lines thawed… and it was ON.

By **5:30am** → 6,000L
By **9:00am** → 9,000L

We thought we were finally getting ahead… then **20 minutes later the RO quit** ⚡

Quick call to Steven Brackenridge Breckendridge at Squirrel CreekSupplies — back up and running (at about half power), and we pushed forward.

🔥 Fired the evaporator at 2:30pm
🍺 11:30pm = beer o’clock

🏆 **New record smashed:**
**23,789L of sap → 473L of incredible amber syrup**

That barrel in the photo?
That’s part of it…

In total, we filled about **2.5 barrels PLUS a pile of 10L jugs**.

Absolutely exhausted… but days like this is why we do it.

🍁 **A lot of people have been asking if maple syrup is starting.....**

The answer is **absolutely yes.**

Many of you first discovered our maple syrup through **Dare2Dream Farm**. Over the years we had an incredible community of customers and visitors who supported the farm, and we are truly grateful for that.

Today our maple operation continues as **Sweet Maple Farms**, where we focus on producing pure maple syrup from our sugar bush.

While the name has changed, the important things haven’t — it’s the **same forest, the same evaporator, and the same maple syrup** many of you have enjoyed for years.

We’ve also launched a **new online store** where you can order fresh syrup:

Our Story

In 2010, after a series of illnesses that were destroying his body, Steve was diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease. Lyme’s is a bacterial infection that attacks, damages and shuts down parts of the body. Eating clean was a large part of Steve’s recovery, so knowing where his food came from became critical.

Initially Steve and Patty raised their own laying hens, broiler (meat) chickens and produced a small amount of maple syrup. In 2010, they bought 4 bee colonies and the love and challenges of beekeeping began.

In 2012, they decided it was time to get their own farm, and moved to the current location by the beginning of 2013. This farm was to be a 10-year plan. Build it up for 10 years and than decide what the next steps would be. It was at this time that the farm was appropriately named “Dare2Dream Farm”. There was a lot of work put into restoring the farm and surrounding property. Everyone pitched in to make it work.

In the spring of 2015, at a local tourism symposium, it was learned that there was a shortage of things to do in Clarington for both the locals and visitors from out of town. We knew that we could be part of the solution to this problem. We already knew that visitors to Dare2Dream Farm always wanted to know more about the bees, as well as where their food comes from. We decided that we wanted to be an agri-tourism attraction, with an area for visitors to (safely) see the inside of a beehive, as well as have a proper facility to produce Canada’s natural sweeteners that customers could view.
