We got a new-to-us tractor!

And the tractor driver, aka my dad, is VERY excited about this one! 😂

It’s bigger than our old tractor, has more horsepower, and best of all… it has a bucket! That bucket is going to save our backs and make so many jobs around the farm a whole lot easier.

Don’t worry, our little old tractor isn’t going anywhere! We’re thinking it might be time for it to retire from some of the heavy work and take on a new job instead… posing for pictures in the sunflower field! We already have our old truck out there, and I think the tractor would make another pretty cute photo spot. What do you think?

And speaking of sunflowers… we are FINALLY starting to see some popping up! They are still coming along very slowly this year, so we’re not quite sure yet if we’ll have enough to make our usual bouquets. We still have a little bit of time, though, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed and letting Mother Nature do her thing.

Either way, we’ll keep you posted on what the sunflower field decides to give us this year! 🌻

Hey everyone! 🌻

It's been a pretty quiet summer here at Antila Acres. We've been doing quite a bit of traveling and enjoying some much-needed time off, but now that August is here, we're really starting to miss our busy season.

Unfortunately, things haven't gone quite as planned with our sunflowers this year. As you can see in the photos, they're still pretty short and have been completely overrun by weeds. We do have some flowers growing, but it's definitely not looking like it did last year. It's almost like the universe knew we needed a break! 😂

I honestly feel awful that I haven't been more active on here. I get so much joy from sharing everything that's happening at the farm, but to be honest, it's just been a quieter season than usual.

That being said... we do have a few exciting things happening behind the scenes that I'll be sharing over the next few weeks! We're still hopeful we'll have some sunflower bouquets available later this season, and we're also hoping to offer family photos in the sunflower patch like we have for the past four summers.

We're not 100% sure what this year's sunflower season will look like, but we'll keep you updated. We're also hoping to have honey available again this year, and we'll be sure to post as soon as it's ready! In the meantime, check out some of the other flowers we have growing.

So keep an eye on our page for updates. We have some plans for the farm that I'm so incredibly excited about... I'm just not quite ready to share them yet. ❤️

Hey everyone,

We have definitely been having an off year lol. No one on the farm has really been up to doing a whole lot lately. We are excited for a slower, more relaxed summer. ☀️

We recently purchased a new trailer (picture included) and would like to do a bit more camping and traveling this summer. Don't worry, our sunflowers will still be available in August and we are hoping to have honey available again in August-September sometime. We just went down to the field today and we have tons of sunflowers popping up already! They are about an inch tall. 🌻🍯🐝

Today we planted cucumber, tomatoes, jalapenos, watermelon and cantaloupe in the greenhouse. We got all of our plants from Hillman Farms. They had lots of great stuff. Go check out their plant sale happening today and tomorrow. 🥒🍅🌶️🍉

Hey everyone,

We've been busy the past couple days planting sunflowers and a few items in our vegetable garden such as beans, carrots, sugar snap peas, etc. 🌻🫛🥕

I've been awful at taking pictures and keeping everyone updated. So here I am doing that lol! 🤣

Also, our asparagus came up nicely! We will be grilling them up for dinner tomorrow night. My parents' dog, Sadie was trying to snap them off too. See her in the picture trying to grab an asparagus! I keep saying she's like a toddler. We are always telling her to get stuff out of her mouth, stop jumping, don't touch that lol.... Our garlic is also coming along too. Can't wait 🤤🧄

We have a few projects we want to get done this summer, and we are excited to share them. We will post as things progress.

Hey everyone,

I took this video of our pond last week and I’m so excited seeing how full it’s getting. It’s such a huge help during the summer being able to pump water to our fields and gardens. 🌱💧

To be honest though, we are definitely behind this season. Usually by now we would already have our seedlings started, but we haven’t even begun yet. I don’t know what it is, but we’ve really been struggling to get our butts into gear this year. 😅

I know we’ll still get there, the seeds will get planted, and I can’t wait to plant our sunflowers. But lately I just haven’t been feeling it. It was such a long, dragged out winter and honestly I’m just excited to have the summer off, soak up some sunshine, and finally start feeling human again. ☀️🌻

Hi everyone,

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful moms out there ❤️

We haven't made a post in a while... It's been a long winter! It's so nice to see the snow go.

The first picture was taken on April 8th, the second photo was taken April 21st and the last photo was taken today, May 10th.

Looking forward to the nice weather ahead. We can't wait to get planting in the field.
