Hey everyone,

We have definitely been having an off year lol. No one on the farm has really been up to doing a whole lot lately. We are excited for a slower, more relaxed summer. ☀️

We recently purchased a new trailer (picture included) and would like to do a bit more camping and traveling this summer. Don't worry, our sunflowers will still be available in August and we are hoping to have honey available again in August-September sometime. We just went down to the field today and we have tons of sunflowers popping up already! They are about an inch tall. 🌻🍯🐝

Today we planted cucumber, tomatoes, jalapenos, watermelon and cantaloupe in the greenhouse. We got all of our plants from Hillman Farms. They had lots of great stuff. Go check out their plant sale happening today and tomorrow. 🥒🍅🌶️🍉

Hey everyone,

We've been busy the past couple days planting sunflowers and a few items in our vegetable garden such as beans, carrots, sugar snap peas, etc. 🌻🫛🥕

I've been awful at taking pictures and keeping everyone updated. So here I am doing that lol! 🤣

Also, our asparagus came up nicely! We will be grilling them up for dinner tomorrow night. My parents' dog, Sadie was trying to snap them off too. See her in the picture trying to grab an asparagus! I keep saying she's like a toddler. We are always telling her to get stuff out of her mouth, stop jumping, don't touch that lol.... Our garlic is also coming along too. Can't wait 🤤🧄

We have a few projects we want to get done this summer, and we are excited to share them. We will post as things progress.

Hey everyone,

I took this video of our pond last week and I’m so excited seeing how full it’s getting. It’s such a huge help during the summer being able to pump water to our fields and gardens. 🌱💧

To be honest though, we are definitely behind this season. Usually by now we would already have our seedlings started, but we haven’t even begun yet. I don’t know what it is, but we’ve really been struggling to get our butts into gear this year. 😅

I know we’ll still get there, the seeds will get planted, and I can’t wait to plant our sunflowers. But lately I just haven’t been feeling it. It was such a long, dragged out winter and honestly I’m just excited to have the summer off, soak up some sunshine, and finally start feeling human again. ☀️🌻

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful moms out there ❤️

We haven't made a post in a while... It's been a long winter! It's so nice to see the snow go.

The first picture was taken on April 8th, the second photo was taken April 21st and the last photo was taken today, May 10th.

Looking forward to the nice weather ahead. We can't wait to get planting in the field.

A couple of weeks ago my friend and I went on a night horseback ride at Rose Woods Stable. The pictures honestly don’t do it justice. Our horses had lights on them and being outside in the quiet darkness with the stars shining so clearly above us felt incredibly peaceful and magical. It was such a beautiful and unforgettable night. ✨🐎🌌

Yesterday we celebrated my dad’s 65th birthday 🎉

We’re so thankful to get to celebrate another year with him. At 65, he’s still the strongest one out of all of us, the guy who can fix absolutely anything, the official family “tractor operator,” and the first one to show up whenever anyone needs a hand.

He’s also the guy who somehow always says “sure” when we come to him with our ridiculous ideas… and then actually helps us make them happen. If something is broken, stuck, heavy, complicated, or slightly questionable… we just call Dad.

We’re so grateful for everything you do and for the kind of person you are. We love you so much. Cheers to 65, and to many more years of fixing our problems and putting up with us! 🍻

Look at how cute these handmade bags are!! I purchased them from Laurie and Kerrin Genier, go check out their page @ Kerrins Kreations! The three bags are all super great quality.

I have been seeing the analog bag trend and had to jump on board. I don't know about you, but I find myself on my phone so much and I want to break the habit. I wish I could go back to the late 90s when I was a kid and everything just felt so much more intentional. A time where you had to read a magazine or actually talk to someone at the doctor's office to keep from boredom.

So, that's the reason for all the bags! I am getting myself prepared with things to do when I'm out of the house. I'm hoping this will help me get off my phone.

In the sunflower bag I have my old iPod from highschool, with headphones that have a wire... no Bluetooth here! It also has my digital camera that I took on my grade 12 Europe trip and a deck of cards. Some simple entertainment without doom scrolling on my phone.

In the purple bag I have all my markers and pencil crayons so I can colour in my sweet little colouring book!

In the moose/camo bag, some elastics, floss and other essentials.

In my tote bag I've also included a magazine and two puzzle books.

I'm hoping this analog bag will reduce my phone dependency. These offline activities should keep me busy and entertained. I love my phone, and how useful it is, but man it can be depressing to see how much time is wasted on it every day... especially in the winter. I can't wait for summer to get here so I can enjoy the sun, fresh air and working on the farm. It's always when I feel the best and it just so happens to be when I'm on my phone the least, surprise surprise!

I posted a few weeks ago that we were getting a new addition to the Antila family.... Well, little Sadie is here!

Sadie's name was originally supposed to be Copper (my favourite name), but once she got home, my parents decided that Sadie was a better fit for her. She is my parents' dog after all, so it's only fair that they made the final decision.

I can't wait to babysit her and have her at our farm every day during the summer. I missed having a dog around. If we didn't have two cats, I would have got one myself.

Sadie is already doing super well with potty training and has only had a few accidents. She is pretty quiet and slept through her first full night, last night. She's such a good girl!

Welcome home, Sadie! We look forward to many happy years ahead. 🐕🐶❤️

About a month ago I was gifted this beautiful sunflower art piece. Tracy S. Workman is the creator and she said it reminded her of our farm.

Isn't it pretty? It sure put a smile on my face. Thanks Tracy it was very thoughtful ❤️🌻
