A little summer update from me ☀️

Over the next little while, things may be a bit quieter here than usual.

As many of you know, That’s Sew Shelly has always been a family effort. While I’m usually the one you see here, my mom has been my rock and biggest supporter every step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without her, and I’m so grateful for all she continues to do behind the scenes.

Right now, family needs a little more of both of us. My husband’s upcoming appointments require some of my time and attention, and my mom and I both have family responsibilities that need to take priority for a while. This season of life is asking us to slow down and focus on the people we love most.

That doesn’t mean we’re going away completely. ❤️

You’ll still see me pop in from time to time with new creations, behind-the-scenes moments, and updates when I have them. I may make appearances at the Pavilion in Cochrane, plan a live sale, or even organize a local event for those who would like to see what we’ve been working on in person.

For now, we’re simply giving ourselves permission to slow down a little, recharge mentally and physically, and find our creative spark again.

Thank you for continuing to follow along, support our little business, and cheer us on through all of life’s seasons. It means more than you know.

We’re looking forward to sharing what’s next when the time is right. 💕

Some tops just seem destined to have a matching skirt.

This relaxed pop-over blouse features short sleeves with integrated cuffs and a classic collar, and once it was finished, I couldn’t resist stitching up the coordinating skirt to create a lovely monochromatic look.

The fabric is a beautiful cotton/linen blend in a soft mushroom shade—somewhere between taupe, putty, and earthy beige. One of those colours that seems to go with everything while still feeling elegant and timeless.

Comfortable, easy to wear, and effortlessly pulled together. ✨

“Okay… I know this might seem a little silly to some people 😄 but if you know us, you know how much we love our girl Macy 🐾🤍

A favourite photo of ours was entered into a Cat Calendar Fundraiser Contest… and sweet Macy won the month of March 2027 😻

We were honestly so excited when we found out. She’s been my little studio supervisor through so many late nights sewing, fabric piles, and busy seasons, so seeing her face on an actual calendar feels oddly emotional and really special.

I thought some of you who remember my last Macy post would enjoy seeing her winning photo too 🐱✨”

“Still smiling thinking about Saturday’s market 🖤

One of my favourite comments all morning was how excited people were that we had a change room at our booth 😄 It made me so happy because I really wanted the space to feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy to shop.

Thank you for such a wonderful first market back. Seeing so many familiar faces — and so many new ones too — meant so much to us.
