Haven’t posted much this week as we have been busy clearing out the gardens and getting ready for winter. A few farm updates:

Me and the mother-in-law will be getting busy planting our 2027 garlic crop tomorrow! We are planting about 20lb or approx 1,500 cloves of Music and Krandasger red this year (as well as a few bulbs of massive elephant garlic, just for fun, that we got from TrueNorth Garden Centre). Stay tuned in case we have any leftover bulbs for sale.

Chickens are going into butcher on October 23rd. We will have them available fresh that Friday evening and all day Saturday. Will be frozen after that. We are doing whole birds BUT trying some cuts as well like chicken breast so if you’ve been interested definitely reach out!

We have no turkeys available this season. I know a few people have messaged, but we simply didn’t want to take too much on before this baby comes so we focused more on breeding for next years batch; (meat breed and heritage). windymaplefarm who is close by has some turkeys still available if you’re looking and want to support local!

Porch packages and pumpkins are all sold out for this year! You guys were incredible. We do however have LOTS of straw for your decor, bedding or winterizing needs. You can pick up at our Castleton or Colborne farm or we can deliver if you get a bundle (21 bales) or more.

we need to make freezer space by November for the next set of pork, we will be fully stocked on bacon and all your fave cuts! Right now we still have a few Salt&Pepper sausages, leg stakes, ribs and some chops.

With CSA boxes coming to an end we will have a regular supply of farm fresh eggs again. We will not be putting them out in the farm stand as it’s getting cold so it’ll be by order only. Preference would be if you could arrange a weekly or biweekly order to ensure you always have eggs saved for you!

We have been working on getting the rest of our potato crop out of the ground so if anyone’s looking for some delicious new potatoes for their dinners, let me know and I can dig them out fresh per order 🥔

👋 SALSA MAKERS 👋

We had a mild frost hit, which means everything is getting off the fields. We have a ton of beautiful sweet peppers and just as many GREEN tomatos..

Who is making salsa? About half a bushel of tomatos and roughly a bushel of peppers. I can sell individually too. DM me to claim and pricing 🫑 🍅

Everything’s naturally grown without the use of pesticides etc.

Stop by the farm stand and grab freshly dug baby roasting potatos for your weekend meals! $3 for a quart basket. They are delicious and we have lots!

Decorate your table with a basket of gourds too, $4 each basket.

Some onions too. Various sizes. $1 for a large head, $1 for 2 mediums and $1 for 3 smalls. Use your best judgement on sizing-I trust you!

Roast the potato’s with oil, garlic, your choice of seasonings and salt for a delicious side dish.

No sprays or chemicals, just naturally grown goodness grown right here in Castleton

Well.. We didn’t even make it to October and you guys have sold us out of a couple hundred pumpkins.

We like to think it’s because we keep prices fair but in reality you guys are just simply awesome and we appreciate the support of our growing farm.

I am really in awe! Looks like we need a bigger patch next year 🫣

This is ALL we have left! XL (photos don’t do justice just how big these guys are) $10 each, first come first serve!

We still have an unlimited supply of straw bales and corn stalks (need to order ahead!) and some gourds left too.

Seriously, THANK you all for an incredible fall so far.
Now it’s time to get planning for next year 🎃

We will be officially sold out out of pumpkins after this weekend, but still have an unlimited supply of corn stocks and straw bales!

Porch package update!

You guys are phenomenal. We had about 50 or so porch packages made up and picked up and delivered in the last two weeks. You’ve completely sold us out of our specialty white pumpkins too!

We just have large/XL pumpkins and gourds left (but they are BIG and beautiful!). So I’ll be revamping the packages a little bit and I’ll do a post later today with a visual. (Basically refer to our previous post but instead of a white & medium pumpkin we will give a xlarge orange and gourds instead)

We still have lots of straw, corn and cat tails too for all your decor needs.

We did unfortunately have a couple people ghost us on delivery day so if you are picking up a package, we can prep it and you can pay cash on pick up BUT if you schedule a delivery, we will need payment ahead of time so we don’t waste time loading and transporting product.
