Look at all that fresh, beautiful green locally grown hay!
And the smell is phenomenal.

We will have sorted, weighed and bagged 2026 hay available in the farm stand for your pocket pets next week. In 1lb, 5lb and bulk 25lb boxes. Orchard grass mix, Straight Timothy and Straight Alfalfa.

We are also looking to add more Pet Store wholesalers to our roster. If you are a local Pet Store looking for local product, we out compete the big box companies by price and quality and are able to re-supply year round. Send us a DM to discuss!

Freshly w**ded and watered!

Another great companion plants are lettuce with onions. The onions smell repel pests that are harmful to lettuce like aphids and slugs. The low growing and leafy lettuce is shallow rooted and acts like a living mulch suppressing w**d growth. The onions also get just tall enough to lightly shade the lettuce plants in the hot summer sun, slowing down bolting and a bitter taste.

I tried this hack one year and swear by it! 🍓

Teach the animals to leave your berries alone!

I collected stones from around the drive way, painted them red and added seeds with a sharpie. Then I place them around my strawberry plants as soon as the flowers start. Over the next couple weeks bunnies, birds and squirrels will all try to snack on the red “berries” and quickly realize they’re inedible. That means when my real berries appear, the animals will be conditioned to NOT touch them, thus resulting in a bountiful harvest. No harmful sprays, traps or fences. Just rocks and paint!

Do you think it’ll work again?

Thanks Meekes farms for bringing the big planter over to get the rest of 2026 sweet corn in and green beans!

48 rows of Golden Bantam followed by Peaches and Cream and 36 rows of straight green beans.

That’s going to be ALOT of sweet corn and beans for bushels/canning.

Pumpkin seeds arrived yesterday too so that’ll be our mission next week 🎃 🌽

Let’s talk companion planting!

Why are we putting basil inbetween the tomato rows?

Basil not only enhances the flavour of tomato’s, it also acts as a deterrent for tomato horn worms, aphids and whiteflies! It likes the same sunny conditions and has shallow roots so it doesn’t compete for nutrients.

It will also go to flower first which will attract all sorts of bees and butterflies.

Dont you love it when things work together??

Weeding the garlic rows with mother-in-law today.
Very thankful for the help! ❤️ 🧄

You may see some w**ds here and there, but that’s how you know we don’t spray our produce. Just good healthy food with a lot of hard honest work behind it.

Last year i planted 100 more strawberries to our patch, a new variety to us but a well know one to the U-pick world.

These will be June bearing only, but huge juicy berries!!

I hope our CSA box subscribers love them because they will have first dibs.
