A before and after comparison after using our new 130 20 two wheel tractor (new to us, unless you count the 1940s as new!) to remove the bindweed from the zucchini bed.

Kohlrabi! It's an if-you-know-you-know vegetable that you might have a hard time finding in the grocery store. Cooked or left raw, there's a ton of interesting kohlrabi recipes out there (some using the leaves too).

We'll have this and more at Rosseau Farmers Market on Friday (tomorrow) and at the Barrie Farmers Market Est 1846 on Saturday this week. Keep an eye out for green and freshly harvested zucchini also, they are so versatile and delicious.

Using the Scuffler (on the one wheel tractor) to loose the weeds between the rows in the leek bed. We started these leeks from seed inside in January. Unlike an onion, leeks can take 180 days (6 months!!) to grow to full maturity.

Today we'll be hilling up the soil around the base of the plants to blanch the leek stems white. They are a time intensive crop, but the harvest of beautiful leeks by the end of summer makes it all worth it!

Annie, hard at work trellising tomatoes and tending to the herb and edible flower row of the greenhouse. Bringing in some fabulous culinary experience, she's been leading our restaurant sales this summer. Cherry tomatoes will be coming to the market soon!

Hello everyone! We are piloting a new delivery service this week, through our new website, featherandfirfarm.myshopify.com (link in bio). This week we have lots of beautiful mixed lettuces (Salanova mix) and early season vegetables. But don't worry, more produce will come online as the season progresses.

We deliver on Tuesday mornings each week to Coldwater and Orillia, and the order window is between Thursday and Sunday. Thank you for your patience as we test our new system, and please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Additionally, this Friday is the first Rosseau Farmers Market of the season, so we hope to see you there! We will be at the Gravenhurst Farmers Market on Wednesdays and the Barrie Farmers Market Est 1846 on Saturday.
