A recent kayaking adventure through the outer islands of Georgian Bay, exploring a beautiful landscape shaped by rock and water.

It must be one of the toughest places for plants to grow… high winds, powerful storms, endless stretches of rock and very little soil. Yet somehow, even the mighty pines find a way to take root in the smallest cracks and hold on.

There’s something about being out on the water, so close to nature and fully immersed in the elements, that makes you feel completely alive.

It was a beautiful time, with a little rain and a wild ride through some big waves

I was completely soaked!

Partager les récoltes du jardin, c’est aussi partager un peu de notre histoire.

Une simple salade d’été, préparée avec ce qui pousse tout près de chez nous, devient une belle façon de célébrer le travail partagé au jardin, les traditions transmises de génération en génération et le plaisir d’impliquer les enfants à chaque étape… planter, récolter, préparer… et savourer ensemble.

How to win a girl’s heart….

…With garlic of course 🥰

This first harvest will be diced and frozen into cubes for winter stews, hearty soups, and to help treat cold and flu symptoms by making a concentrated brew of garlic & ginger root tea to sip on during sniffly, sneezy cough-y times.

Blueberry season is one of our favourite times of year!

There’s something so special about gathering together, filling our baskets, and enjoying a beautiful day at Tiny Acres, one of our friendliest local U-Pick farms.

A heartfelt maarsii, thank you to Centre de santé communautaire Chigamik Community Health Centre for continued partnership and commitment to offering land-based programs that connect families to the land, culture, and the gifts of each season.

A beautiful evening spent at Discovery Harbour for our Summer Salves Workshop!

We could not have asked for better weather down by the bay or a more wonderful group of guests. Together, we sampled herbal teas, explored plant-infused oils, and used locally sourced beeswax to create our summer salve trio:

🌼 Dandelion Lip Balm
🌿 Calendula & Cedarwood Working Hands Salve
🍃 Plantain & Wild Mint After-Bite Salve

There is something so special about slowing down, working with our hands and learning from the plants around us. We had an absolute blast.
