Squash goals 🤩 This year, we have 14 types of squash available - each with their own unique characteristics and all of them delicious! Here’s our 2025 squash guide to help you find your perfect selection.
Did you know that squash keep incredibly well and are a great source of vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, and fiber? This mean you can enjoy them all Fall and Winter long.
Due to the drought this summer, some varieties have lower availability so be sure to swing by early to grab your favourites!
A. Hubbard - one of the best keeping, this can last up to 6 months and is great for pies
B. Butternut - deep-orange flesh with a sweet, nutty flavour, perfect for soups
C. Kabocha - shaped like a squat pumpkin, this has an intense yellow-orange inside and an exceptionally sweet flavour
D. Sweet Mamma - a type of Kobocha squash, yellow and you guessed it, sweet
E. Honey Nut - looks just like mini butternut with an even sweeter, deeper orange flesh (still maturing in field so very limited supply at the moment)
F. Mashed Potato - white and low in sugar, this takes on appearance of mashed potatoes when cooked
G. Sweet Dumpling - a tasty and tender squash that doubles as great fall decor
H. Heart of Gold - sweet, rich flavor which can be baked, mashed or steamed
I. Sweet Lightning - another fall decor favourite that has a sweet, smooth flavour great for baking or roasting (limited supply this year)
J. Delicata - tender and delicious with a velvety flesh that caramelizes beautifully in the oven
K. Celebration / Carnival - delicious yellow flesh reminiscent of sweet potatoes and butternut, great for roasting
L. Spaghetti - mild, nutlike flavour with a flesh that separates into strands resembling spaghetti when cooked
M. Acorn / Pepper - sweet, small, savoury and easy to bake
N. Honey Bear - a mini acorn and bred to be baked and served in the half shell, the “honey” refers to the sweet squash flavor when cooked (limit supply this year)
