🌿 August 7 🌿

💜 Today our lavender wall came down—dried lavender all boxed up and tucked away.

🧄 Also today, Garlic is officially in the barn loft, curing and settling in. The 2026 crop finally processed. 😅

🥦 Harvest haul: cauliflower, chard, giant beets, broccoli, beans, kale, lettuce, eggplant, basil, sweet bell peppers… and TOMATOES are exploding 🍅 (they’ve officially overtaken zucchini 👀) — and so much more!

🌸 Dahlias are thriving—fresh bundles at BOTH farmers markets this weekend.

🌽 Sweet corn is SO close… just days away 🌽

🥒 The barn kitchen is in full preservation mode: Dilly Beans, Spicy Dilly Beans, Dill Pickles are done… and Bread & Butter Pickles go in tomorrow!

It’s been a busy week on the farm! 🌱

We wrapped up the garlic harvest on Tuesday, pulling the last three 400-foot rows to finish the season. 🧄

Alongside a steady flow of summer vegetables, we’ve been delivering blooms to 5th Street Florist , supplying Marc-André Dubois Filberg Summer Kitchen and 19 Deep Public House , and created a custom edible bouquet filled with fresh vegetables and flowers—a fun highlight of the week! 💐🥕🌸

The fields are in full production with more harvests coming in daily.

We’re back at both farmers’ markets this weekend, and the farm stand is fully stocked and open as usual.

We’re as ready as we’ll be!

The farm is open tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Our Lavender & Garlic Market runs for five days only. Wednesday through Sunday, July 22–26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lavender is in full bloom, the garlic has just been harvested, and the big old barn will be filled with fresh vegetables, dried flowers, farm-made products, preserves, and plenty of lavender.

A few reminders:
• Free admission
• Cash and cards accepted
• No public washrooms
• Please leave pets at home
• We won’t be attending the Comox or Campbell River Farmers Markets this week.
• Farmstand customers, just drive on in. All of our vegetables have been moved into the big old barn.

We can’t wait to see you. 💜

The Flower Room: Behind the Scenes

Every flower you see has been grown here on our farm, harvested by hand at just the right stage, carefully bundled, and hung in the rafters to dry. Months of growing and tending finally come together in these simple bundles.

This week, dried flower bundles will be waiting in the old barn, alongside our garlic, lavender, and handcrafted dried flower arrangements.

Our Lavender & Garlic Market isn’t a festival. It’s something much quieter and, we think, rather special. For a few days each summer, we open our little lavender field and decorate the old barn with the things we’ve grown here. It’s our way of sharing the season’s harvest and a little glimpse into what we do here on the farm with our community.

There is something very special about slowing down, wandering through the lavender, stepping into the old barn, and seeing the care that goes into each bundle and arrangement.

We’d love to welcome you.

See you at the farm.

⚡️ Well… today didn’t go quite as planned!

With thunderstorms overhead and heavy rain moving through this morning, we had to pivot our plans. Safety comes first, so instead of pulling garlic and weeding in the big open fields, our crew stayed close to the barns and greenhouses and spent the morning harvesting a bounty of fresh vegetables. Rain gear was definitely a must!

The wet weather has officially put us behind on setting up the barn with this year’s garlic and lavender, but our team has been incredible. Everyone has been working hard to keep us moving forward despite weather challenges, and a few team members have offered to come in on their usual day off to help us get caught up before opening day on July 22. We’re so appreciative of their flexibility, and of every member of our crew whose hard work has kept us moving toward opening day.

Tomorrow you’ll find us at Comox Valley Farmers' Market with lots of the beautiful vegetables we harvested today. We weren’t able to pick sweet peas, but we will have a mountain of fresh tomatoes! 🍅 We hope that makes up for it.

Because we’re behind, we’ve made the difficult decision not to attend Campbell River Farmers market & Arts Faire on Sunday as originally planned. Right now, we need all hands on the farm to get everything ready for opening day. We hope you understand and appreciate your continued support.

We’re getting so close now. Just five more days until we open our farm doors!

Thank you to our amazing team, our customers, and our community for your patience, encouragement, and support through every weather-related pivot. We can’t wait to welcome you all very soon. 💚

July 16th — six days until we open!

Another full summer day on the farm, and another day checking things off the list before we welcome everyone next week.

Today we direct-seeded some winter vegetables, harvested two more 400-foot rows of garlic, weeded what feels like an endless patch of winter squash, and picked tomatoes, lettuce, kale, beets, summer squash, and sunflowers.

We harvested fresh vegetables to fulfill orders 19 Deep Public House and GIGI’S OYSTERS, Wendy delivered local blueberries for this year’s blueberry lavender jam, more lavender was added to the lavender wall (it’s getting there!), and we welcomed two more wonderful people to our ever-growing farm crew.

There wasn’t any time to decorate the barn today, but that’s okay. The work that needed doing got done, and we’ll spend some time making the barn beautiful tomorrow. It’s slowly coming together, one day at a time.

It was a good day.

We’re grateful for this farming life, for the purpose it gives us, and for the incredible people who show up beside us each day. Our crew pours so much care, energy, and heart into this farm, and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

The farm opens July 22–26, and we can’t wait to welcome you.

July 15 Farm Update 💪

Mid-July is when the farm has a pretty good hold on us.

Every day is a balancing act—figuring out what absolutely has to get done, what can wait until tomorrow, and somehow getting everything ready for next week’s Lavender & Garlic Market.

Over the years, we’ve learned there will always be another job waiting. You do what’s most important, keep moving, and trust that, somehow, it all comes together.

This morning started with harvesting flowers for 5th Street Florist . Thank you for the orders, Ariana! After that, the team split up to make the most of the dry weather. Half spent the day pulling, cleaning, sorting, and hanging garlic in the barn, while the other half picked flowers for drying in the rafters and bundled more lavender for the wall—ready to hang tomorrow.

The old barn is slowly changing with the season. For most of the year it’s filled with tractors and equipment, but every summer we sweep it clean and fill it with garlic, flowers, and the scent of lavender. Watching it transform into a space where people can gather has become one of our favourite parts of the season.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you next week.

The crops have spoken — the farm gates are opening soon!

We don’t choose the date for our summer farm opening, the crops do. When the lavender is at its peak and the garlic is ready to come out of the ground, we know it’s time to welcome the community onto the farm.

Join us for our Lavender & Garlic Market
📅 Wednesday–Sunday, July 22–26
⏰ 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
📍2276 Anderton Rd, Comox, BC

Wander through our little lavender field, cut your own bouquet, watch lavender being distilled, and step inside our barn market — a little corner of France in the Comox Valley — filled with hanging garlic, dried flowers, fresh vegetables, and farm-made products.

A celebration of the season, grown and created right here on the farm.

We can’t wait to welcome you!
